you were sitting in your room, waiting for miya to get back. there wasn't really anything good on, you settled for full house, which was rerunning on nick at night. suddenly, you heard the door unlocking. as the door opened, an absolute putrid smell met your nostrils. you plugged your nose, standing up to see what the hell was at the door.

and there was miya.

covered in some sort of? mud? you hoped, at least. "i don't want to talk about it." was all he said, before walking to the bathroom. ah, alright then. you quickly walked over to some closet, hoping there was something to get rid of the smell. there was, thankfully, just some random bottle of febreez. you quickly sprayed all around the room before sitting back in bed, it had certainly helped. if the shower didn't do the job, perhaps you'd spray miya with it.

it was almost an hour later as the bathroom door opened again, miya walking out in fresh clothes, using a towel to dry his hair. "wow, you smell better." he shot you a glare as he put the towel around his shoulder, going to get a glass of water. "so, can i ask now, orrrrr?" he explained that there were some sort of mud monsters, which, you figured it'd be best not to question. "what are you watching?" he asked, sitting on his bed. "full house, there wasn't really anything good on. you can change it if you want." he shook his head, "no, it's fine." you nodded, turning back to the tv as you grabbed your phone. you were researching the weird mud things, wanting to figure out when they'd leave. while you weren't the biggest fan of the beach, you always wanted to lie on it in the middle of the night. it just seemed pretty aesthetic, you know, watching the stars on the sand. 3 a.m, that's when they stopped, well, mudding people. it was 1:47, so you wouldn't have to wait too long. "can i turn the lights off? it's late, i'm going to bed." you nodded, offering to turn the tv off as well, but he said he usually slept with the tv on anyways. as he was walking past your bed back to his own, you told him to stop. "c'mon miya! where's my goodnight kiss?" his face turned red, he really was fun to tease. he averted eye contact before putting one hand on your shoulder, pressing his lips to your forehead. okay, now you were the red one. "goodnight." his voice was barely above a whisper as he got back into his bed, while you were frozen in place. "u-h yeah- yeah goodnight." you put your hands on your cheeks, trying to calm yourself down.

i don't like him i don't like him i don't like him i don't-

you pressed your palms to your forehead. you could repeat those pesky words over and over again in your head, but it didn't change your rapid heart beat.

it was 3, now. you were putting on your socks and shoes, and a pocket knife. you know, just incase there were any mud monsters. or adams. you walked to the door, starting to quietly unlock it. "where are you going?" you jumped, turning around to miya who was now sitting up. "oh, sorry, did i wake you? i was going to head down to the beach, wanted to see the stars. oh and don't worry, i did some research, those weird mud things stop attacking people after 3 a.m." he just nodded, "no, it's okay. be careful." you paused, staring at him for a second. "do you.. do you um- want to come?" he thought about the question for a second, before lifting the covers off himself. "sure. let me get my shoes on." you nodded, waiting for him.

the beach really was nice, a lot nicer than during the day. it wasn't as hot, and the sound of the waves were actually pretty relaxing. you yawned, lying down on the sand. it felt a bit weird at first, but strangely comforting. miya lied next to you. it was nice, yet made you want to cry. you felt strangely happy, which, maybe you just weren't use to. "are you alright?" miya was staring at you, a concerned look on his face. you turned, smiling to him. "thank you, miya."

"for what?" you turned, looking back to the stars, a content smile on your face. "for being my friend. you make me happy, miya. really happy. i can't even explain it. i never want to leave your side." he was flustered, but it was much too dark to tell. "d-don't say such cheesy things, idiot... i um.. i guess you're okay... sometimes..." you laughed. "hey, miya?" he hummed. "when we die, lets meet up in the next life, okay?" he paused, probably a little taken aback by the question. "how would we even be able to find each other?" he watched as your smile grew, still looking at the stars. "cause we're soulmates!" sure, you couldn't see him, but you were absolutely positive he was flustered. though, you hadn't just said it to fluster him. you generally meant it. whether platonically or romantically, you fully believed it. "w-what's going on with you? why are you saying all this?" you turned to him. "do you disagree?" he paused, again. "i- i well.. i didn't say that." you smiled, once again turning to the stars. your hand found his, entangling your fingers together. he gripped your hand.

it was a good idea to invite him.

you both just lied there, silently, for about an hour, before you broke the silence. "alright, i'm tired now, wanna go back inside?" he nodded, pushing himself off the floor, you followed suit.

as you got back to your room, you collapsed on your bed, sighing. miya stood at the end of your bed, just staring at you. "yeah?" you looked at him, turning on your bedside lamp. you hadn't bothered turning back on the lights. he blushed, avertine eye contact. "is there... it there um... room for one more." you smirked, you just had to. you scooted over, lifting up the blanket. he walked over, crawling into the bed. you wrapped your arms around him, resting your head in the nape of his neck. he, again, rested his chin on your head, reaching his arm out to turn off the lamp. "goodnight, y/n."

"g'night"
