"..."

"Understand I have no choice in the matter"

He searched her face for any sign of disapproval, but none came. He could hear her heartbeat speed up rapidly and could tell that her body slightly tensed. He waited for a response of some sort but was met with the continued silence.

...'

"Could we...," She spoke "Could we go home now?" Her voice was broken in her reply.

Sesshomaru observed her as she lifted her satchel of belongings and stood with her back faced to him. He walked towards her hesitantly and before she knew it she was lifted in his arms and they were in the night sky. She rested her head on his chest as the wind from the speed of his flight danced in her locks of hair. She nestled the side of her face deeper into his chest and whispered something before she drifted off to sleep. "It was only a foolish dream"

(Her response was not what I was expecting, but then again what did I really expect? Did I expect her to be angry? Jealous even? No... Rin... What are you thinking...)

The sun rose the next day without the greeting of Rins smile. She laid awake staring out at the window but didn't have the strength nor the motivation to get out of bed.

(My heart aches as if it's on the verge of breaking. Why do I feel this way... I just thought... I just thought after all that has happened things would work out... I'm such a silly girl with silly dreams... To think I really believed that out of all people he would be by my side forever... Forever... With Lord Sesshomaru...) A wave of tears filled her eyes as the thought of a dream of a life with him was shattered like a piece of glass.

(What could I say... What was I suppose to say...) Her body curled bringing her knees to her chest as she hugged them tightly.

***********************************************************************************************"Excuse me Lord Sesshomaru, Lady Rin has not come out to eat or drink and we were wondering if she is not feeling well my lord. If the lady is not well we will make her the finest soup and medicine for her ailment" the servant stated.

Sesshomaru was taking a stroll in the garden, jaken at his side while contemplating his next move. He noticed the fall flowers were wilting and the trees weren't their usual fall coloring when one of his castle servants interrupted him.

"What do you mean she hasn't come out of her room" He replied.

"When we went to offer her a midday meal she kindly refused and said she will come in a bit, but that has been hours ago and now she won't come out for dinner"

"Jaken"

"Yes my lord. I'll see to it that stops this rebellion at once"

He could've gone himself to tell address the issue, but if he had done that then he would be forced to address more of the issue at hand. He didn't know what to think of last night's reaction. She hadn't responded to his comments on his arranged marriage, and he didn't know if that was what a human would normally respond like. Rin was no ordinary human though; despite her new abilities, she has always been different than most humans. Her kind nature and loving heart could never harm or hate.

"Rin! Are you trying to kill yourself! Lord Sesshomaru demands that you eat something, you stubborn girl!" Jaken scolded.

"If he demands it then I shall, but I have no such appetite" She lay there with her back faced to the little Imp.
