*Sorry for the long wait! I have a week off this semester so trying to edit and get everything up for you guys*

A week went by and Rin kept to her word. She provided him with the necessities to nurse himself back to health. They sat by the river while Rin fished and talked about trivial things that came to mind like why flowers are different colors and what secrets the ocean could be keeping.

"Are you capable of coming back with me now or are you still scared you'll get beaten up?" Rin asked.

"Hmph, what a condescending thing to say. For a princess your quite rude" Maru replied.

"Well for a guard, your quite incapable if you ask me" she chuckled.

"I suppose you're right." He stated. Eyes shaded.

"Oh? What's wrong? I didn't mean to upset you. I was only joking." She panicked.

"It's nothing. I was just lost in my thoughts." He assured her.

He watched as she struggled to tie put bait on her fishing hook. She finally gave up and tossed it down with a look of defeat.

Maru picked it up and examined it. He then grabbed another worm that was wriggling nearby.

"Here I'll show you. You have to put it on following the shape of the hook for it to properly stay. Leaving a little out so it can squirm in the water." He said.

"Oh wow! Where did you learn that?" Rin replied.

"It's just something I've seen someone close to me do a million times. She was very resourceful"

"That person must've been an expert and extremely talented. I probably would do well in learning a thing or two from her. Like how to be a lady for instance."

There was a short pause that was broken by laughter. Maru laughed an uncontrollable laugh. The thought of Rin trying to teach herself everything she knew about being a lady was hilarious to him and for some reason laughing came more naturally here.

Rin was surprised and in shock. She couldn't see what was so hilarious.

"I'm not sure I get what is so amusing," she said in confusion.

He collected himself before clearing his throat.

"Eh-hem. Well, you wouldn't learn much from her in that aspect I assure you. She wasn't exactly a lady." He said.

"Was she important to you?" Rin asked.

"Very"

"I see... And where is she now?"

"She's lost"

"How can you find her if your duty is to protecting me?"

He turned to her with a genuine smile and said, "I'm hoping she will find me first"

He stared deeply into Rins eyes as she turned away and blushed.

"That's ridiculous. Well whoever she is, she must be very special. I think it's time I introduce you to your post Lord Maru." She stated as she stood up.

He nodded his head as he followed her back to the castle.

......................................................................

The two arrived at the castle and were greeted by many guards.

"Get away from him Princess!" One of the guards yelled.
