"Huh? Oh yea... She said the only time she can feel anything hurtful is when she's there... Whatever that means" Inuyasha replied.
(That garden... Could It be the same one she refused to step foot on...) Sesshomaru thought.
Inuyasha continued after falling to read his brother's facial expression, "She found a way from stopping herself from being hurt... Can you blame her..."
Without any response, Sesshomaru took off towards the bickering women. The closer he approached, the more intense the conversation had gotten. He could even hear the priestess and the young demon slayer contribute.
"Why are you acting like this Rin?! This isn't you!" Kohaku yelled.
"Look, we can all see what this is doing to you... You can't continue like this Rin, It's not good for anyone." Kagome added.
"You obviously haven't been taking care of yourself! What good is this going to do if your dead?... Please Rin, find it in your heart to stop this nonsense" Kohaku said.
"... Can you really stand the one you love, to marry another person? Can your heart really be that strong?" Anayai spoke in whisper like tone.
The interrogated women just stood there in silence. Not because she was feeling anything in particular, but because she didnt feel anything at all. Its like she heard their pleas, but it didnt strike her in anyway that she knew it normally would.
(This must be the effects of my powers... ) Rin thought.
She had noticed over the course of the last few weeks that her whole idea of matching Sesshomaru with Anayai became more of a duty based agenda than a personal one. The emotions behind the motive became a slight numbness in her heart, almost reminiscent of a faded memory.
The three turned towards the sight of Sesshomaru walking towards them. He stopped and stared at Rin while she reluctantly refused to look back and turned her gaze elsewhere.
"Rin."
"Yes Lord Sesshomaru?" she replied.
"All previous engagements are to be terminated immediately"
Her eyes widened.
"... Does Lord Sesshomaru think Lady Anayai is not well suited?" she asked.
He stared at Anayai and Kohaku as Kohaku held the teary eyed demoness closely.
"Are you so blinded by your ambition that you do not see it." He asked her.
She stared at the couple and the realization hit her. They were fond of eachother.
"... Anayai... What about your duty to your ..."
"Her duty is to her overated" He interrupted. (As is mines)
Anayais eyes widened at Sesshomarus words as she took a step towards the great dog demon.
"Thank you my lord... I've decide to stay here in this village and learn all there is to know before returning home, I am willing to face my consequences" Anayai stated.
"Keep in mind, my mother might not allow you that time," He looked to Kohaku, "But I see someone will not allow her to claim it"
He turned his back and continued his dialog.
"Rin, leave them be."
"... But what about.."
"Were leaving" he said in his stern voice.
RIn walked towards Sesshomaru and the the two continued to walk to the exit of the village.
