Time's Unloyalty

An overwhelming sense of shame came over the great dog demon... He knew he was on the verge of losing control, but he chose to remain near her. He knew better... Yet all he wanted was to spend the last remaining moments before his departure with her.

Rin's face was blank. It was as if his actions didn't phase her at all. All she could think about now was how empty she felt. She stood up and continued to dress. 

(I'm not sure how to react anymore... Why do I feel absolutely nothing... It's not supposed to feel like this... ) She questioned herself. 

"I will take my leave now," Sesshomaru said. 

"Yes, of course," she replied.

"Understand that I won't be back for some time, take care of yourself and..." Memories of all he has put her through flashed through his mind. "Forgive me Rin."

Rin was so caught up in her own thoughts that she didn't notice he hesitated his departure and stood waiting for her to say something else before he left. 

(Maybe without his memories his actions were based on instinct, but still... If I'm to be honest with myself, I no longer feel things that I know I should. Is that so bad? I mean I couldn't possibly endure this any other way right? Then there's the subject of his gaze... )

Meanwhile in a palace in the skies...

"My lady, It is only right the debt be repaid" Lord Tetsu pleaded.

"Ahhahahaaha. What makes you think I would allow you to harm my son?" Sesshomaru's mother replied.

"I have no intention of physical harm towards him, I assure you."

"Then what? Arent you seeking revenge Lord Tetsu?"

"I plan on harming his heart my lady"

"Ha. I see... Do you want to rid of his human? Is that it? Well, that is not an option."

"Don't tell me my lady is fond of the human girl as well?"

"Don't be ridiculous, I don't share the same obsession as my son, it has come to my attention that they share the same heart. The little imp told me if she dies then so does my son.

"... Same heart?"

"Yes. So if you want to harm her, It would be wise to sever the tie between them first."

"Understood."

"Lord Tetsu, the only person that could possibly undo that spell is the person who put it there in the first place."

"... And who might that be?"

"His brother's mate" She stared at the bear tribe leader and flashed a wicked smile, "Good luck with that, I do hope you have a plan."

Lord Tetsu reached into his sleeve and pulled out a small hand mirror. 

"If I can't undo the spell then I can at least capture her with this" He replied.

The sun was finally setting as the servants gathered at the entrance of the castle to see their Lord off. Rin stood idly by, observing everyone from behind a pillar. Sesshomaru walked past the servants and stopped in front of Rin.

"See to it that you remain safe until my return." He stated.

"Yes my Lord" Rin replied.

"Don't go getting yourself into any trouble Rin! You better not have us coming back here to save you! Unless of course, you need us, its not like Im going to miss you or anything, but we will be gone for a long time." jaken scolded as he wiped his teary eyes.
