Puppy

Halos ayaw ko ng bumalik sa lamesa namin sa kahihiyang inabot ko sa labas ng wash room. In just one snap, everything turned upside down. But, I don't have a choice, even though my knees are still wobbling and heart are still beating so fast, I went back to out table, not looking at him. Just ignore him Ru!

"Tagal mo ah, nauna pang nakabalik si Chandler sayo!" Puna agad ni Marie pagkadating ko sa table.

"Do you want to go home now?" Toby suddenly butted in.

"Nu ba kayo, It was just a spilled of water!" I assure them. I even show my wet uniform to them. I saw Chandler's forehead creased. Yeah I didn't wear his jacket. Bakit ba! I ignore him and pretend that I didn't give a damn about his sudden change of expression.

After we finish our dinner, we parted ways. Si Mila sinabay ni James, si Marie kay Toby naman dahil same way lang maman sila. Naiwan kaming dalawa ni Chandler dito sa labas. Oh great!

I glance at his direction, hesitant to say goodbye or completely walk away without bothering saying a farewell, anyhow, I chose the first one. I still have courtesy you know kahit bastos siya! Hmf.

"I-I'll go ahead" nautal kong paalam sa kanya.

Hindi ko na hinintay pang sumagot siya at tumalikod na ako derederetchong pumunta sa kotse ko. Ilang sandali ay lumingon ako para tignan kung andun pa si Chandler. Maybe I was a bit rude because I turn around without waiting for his replay, but after what we did, no, he did to me in the wash room, irritates me to the bone! That is why I chose to walk away rushly. But he nowhere to be found anymore. I don't know why I felt a little dissappointed because he was no longer there, but I shrugged my shoulder and went inside my car. Who am I to him anyway?

Pagkatapos ng last subject namin, nagpaalam na ako sa mga kaibigan ko dahil may usapan kami ni Toby na magkikita. He invited me last night so I gladly accepted his invitation. I texted first Dee na susunod nalang ako sa La Roma, nag aaya kasing magparty eh. Deretcho nalang ako nun pagkatapos ng dinner namin ni Toby, maybe I could invite Toby too.

Pagkalabas ko, walang Toby na naghihintay, just like what he said last night. Nagkibit balikat nalang ako, although wala naman kaso yung di niya natupad yun, maybe di pa tapos ang training nila. I took out my phone in my pocket to check if he texted me for being late, but another dissppointment plastered on my face. No text at all. I bit my lower lip, deciding if I should call him or not. I end up texting him that I will wait him in the parking lot. I even texted him that no need to hurry, but it's the contratry.

30 minutes had past, but no Toby appeared. I starting to get annoyed and impatient. I look at my wrist watch and it's 10 minutes before 6. Pinaikot- ikot ko pa ang cellphone ko sa pagkabagot.

"A true gentleman should not let a woman wait for him that long" Napabalikwas ako sa baritonong nagsalita.

Nakakunot ang noo kong napasulyap sa gawi niya. Bagya pa umuwang ang labi ko sa bitbit niya. He was carrying a damn puppy! It looks like it has a breed. Wait, Diba bawal ang pets sa loob ng campus? Dumako ang mata ko sa kaniya pabalik.

"Eh ano naman sayo? You don't know Toby's reason for being late!" I defended. I really don't know why I did that, but I gave Toby a benefit of the doubt even though I am already bored and impatient at him for not being informative.

He smirks. "For whatever reason it is, he is still rude for taking too long" he fired back.

I crossed my arms and look at him intently "for sure paparating na yun" I said. I look at away just to divert my attention kesa siya yung tinitignan ko. Maiisip ko lalo yung ginawa niya sakin kahapon.
