vote, comment & enjoy!A lot of speculation rose after my Street Fighter win back in 2000. Many misogynistic viewers claimed it was rigged, while others accused Sensei of bribery since so many of his students had made it so far. I won't lie, my journey became lonely the moment I left China for my tour, and dealing with those accusations didn't help.
I missed my friends and I was still healing. Emotionally, mentally and physically. But in the end, I learned to accept fate and finally enjoy traveling the world. Meeting new people, teaching foreigners from kids to adults... It's been an adventure.
As for the gang, everyone's doing pretty well for themselves. Hobi became a member of a successful dance group, traveling the continent and performing at concerts alongside his dance partner-fiancée. Cammy returned to England for some time before moving to Paris and making it big in the fashion world with her mother. We still keep in contact, though it would be nice to see her in person. It's been years.
The twins are actually a lot more mature now. Yeonjun returned to training for the next tournament alongside Yun, meanwhile Yang pursued a more thrilling field of stunt-doubling for movies. Eventually though, Yeonjun went to college and earned his Economics degree while the twins got happily engaged to two sisters, Hoimei and Shaomei.
Although he didn't win, Jimin's performance in the tournament got recognized by many agencies and before we knew it, he went on to become a certified martial arts trainer. Sadly, we sort of drifted apart after Taehyung's death. I guess we were both in too dark and busy of a place to speak about it. I hope he's taking care of himself these days...
Jungkook's still an icon at 30 of course. Not to mention happily married to an athlete named Rifa who happens to be the mother of his newborn son. I honestly couldn't be happier for them. As for Hakyeon and Viper, nobody knows what happened to Hakyeon while Viper actually became a successful Chinese Olympian gymnast. I can't say I'm surprised, she's insanely talented.
As horrible as their actions were... I hold no grudges in my heart. Hopefully they're both healthy and kinder adults now.
After answering many questions, I cross my legs and adjust my suit while the interviewer bites her pencil.
"What about family life? I know you were close to your Sensei and late grandparents. When recalling your success, do you think of them by any chance?"
"Every day. Why do you think I wear my Gramma's hair clip?" I tap the accessory. "As for Sensei, he's the wisest teacher I could ever ask for. It's an honor to be taking his place as he retires."
