and enjoy! The dojo feels noticeably different what with Taehyung and Hakyeon's absence. Due to their fight last class, Hakyeon was eliminated entirely from the competition while Taehyung's been sent home for 2 days. Jungkook figured it would be best if he took time to cool off rather than possibly fight in front of Sensei and risk elimination too.
Over by the mirrors, Jungkook practices with Yeonjun who blocks his many attacks with a bo staff. The older smiles and ruffles his hair in congratulation before Yeonjun walks off.
Here it goes...
I take a deep breath before walking over to Jungkook. Not having spoken to him properly in ages, he looks at me in surprise.
"Mei. Is everything alright?"
I look down and lick my lips...
"Look, I know I'm risking your reputation by speaking to you but I just really wanted to apologize. It's because of me that Sensei punished you. I promise I didn't mean to—"
"Mei, stop."
My brows raise in fear before he continues, "You have nothing to be sorry for. If anything, I was the one showing favoritism towards one student. So please don't apologize, okay?"
"But..."
"Mei, I'm spending more time assisting the other students now for multiple reasons. One being to not get you in trouble. And two... Because you don't need it." He playfully punches my shoulder, making me smile in relief.
"...I'm glad we're good after all."
"Of course."
Just then, I spot Viper entering the dojo with her bag strapped over her shoulder. I immediately pardon myself from Jungkook and head over to her.
"Viper?"
"Hey."
"Hey. Could we talk on the benches real quick?"
She looks at me in confusion before shrugging and following behind as we take a seat on our bench and she lowers her bag.
"How are you feeling? You seem better than yesterday."
"Why wouldn't I be?" She shrugs.
"Because, you know... Hakyeon got kicked out."
