My shoulders jump at the ring of Cammy's voice as the happy Blonde plops herself on our wooden stool.
"Well if it isn't sweet Cammy."
"You're gonna keep showing up here, aren't you?" I sigh.
"Well we have practice soon! I thought I'd wait for your shift to be over so we could walk together again."
"I'm sure Mei would love that." Gramma brings her a steamy bowl of prepared noodles. Cammy's face lights up before chewing hungrily.
"What's the matter Mei? You've been rather quiet this morning." Gramma says.
"Oh you know, just... Busy busy." I smile falsely. Honestly... Every since Taehyung and I snuck away to Poison Alley, I've been paranoid about getting caught. I never get into trouble let alone cause it, and often become quiet after doing something wrong. God, I hate guilt.
Snapping out of my thoughts, I notice Pa observing my mannerisms with suspicion. I instantly clear my throat and continue sweeping.

Suddenly, the natural sounds of marketplace gibberish are overthrown by the clunky roars of a motorcycle engine, which is rare to see unless related to one thing... Gangs.
"Nobody fucking move!" Three raggedy teens hop off and start invading our neighbor stalls. The workers all gasp and surrender with Gramma instinctively joining Pa in the back of the shack.
Despite the aggressive entrance and panicked yelps, Cammy just watches obliviously whilst chewing her noodles. "What's happening?"
"An ambush." I reply, "This happens like every week. Whatever you do, don't—"
"Yo, check out the foreign chick!" One of them slaps his bat in his palm at the sight of Cammy's prestige looking loafers.
"Oh yeah!" Another sneers, "Yo, white girl! Give us those!"
"You... Want my shoes?" She looks down innocently, holding her noodles close. "Like, right now?"
"Did I stutter?!"
"Leave her alone." I stand between them and scowl. "You idiots seriously have nothing better to do than steal from schoolgirls and hard-working families? Pathetic."
