Faceless students seem to whizz by as I pick at my food aimlessly with wooden chopsticks. It's not unusual to sit alone during lunch, but ever since Hoseok left, I don't know I'm just... Not myself.
He's been by my side since we were kids. He was my best friend and now because of me, he had to go home and explain to his parents something he didn't even do.
The pitter-patter of flats increase when a certain vibrant blonde takes the bench opposite me, a fruitful tray of food in-hand. "Hello Mei!"
"Hey..."
She frowns and looks down. "Oh... You must still be upset about Hoseok leaving."
I sigh and silently continue distributing my food, placing the meat into a steel cup and passing it to Cammy before eating only the small portion of salad.
But she doesn't eagerly scoff the food down like usual or even look at it. Instead, she keeps her eyes on me and frowns before eating quietly.
Viper soon approaches but stops to roll her eyes back at the sight of Cammy.
Once Viper sits beside me, Cammy straightens her back, overlaps her hands and smiles brightly. "Hello."
"What do you want?" Viper's face scrunches.
"But you're the one who—"
"You guys please, not now." My hand meets my temple.
Cammy rests her hand on my arm and sighs. "Please don't be stressed Mei. What happened yesterday was awful but Hoseok himself said not to worry. I'm sure he wouldn't want to see you this sad."
Viper sighs, though sounding more like a groan.
"I mean... Yeah. The dumb blonde's right."
Cammy gives her a wide beam and reaches for her shoulder, singing, "Thank you Viper—"
"Mm-Mm, nope." She smacks her hand away. "What I mean is, yeah it sucks that Hobi's gone but it's not like the dude's dead, right? He still lives just blocks away. And I'm sure another dojo of his choice will assign him. His journey isn't over so you have nothing to feel guilty about."
