*Nobody's POV*

A blonde haired cashier was taking orders in a small cafe. It was her usual work day of serving coffee and baked goods. "Okay, we'll have your order out in a bit." She smiled as she handed the customer their receipt and told them to wait on the side. She focused on the screen in front of her as she spoke to the next person in line, "hello how can I help you?"

The next customer spoke clearly and calmly, "One vanilla espresso, and time on your next day off."

The blonde haired cashier smiled, she didn't have to look up to know who it was. "We've been over this. I'll ring up your espresso." The customer, who was a salmon haired boy, leaned on the counter in front of her, "I know, but will my receipt have anything special on it? Say a number maybe?"

She lightly chuckled as she ripped the receipt from the printer. Handing it over to the boy in front of her, and finally making eye contact with him, "no, but as usual, have a nice day."

     The salmon haired boy smiled and walked further along the counter to wait for his order. A blue haired girl, who also worked there, approached the cashier, "c'mon Lu-chan, he's trying."

Lucy, who was currently wiping the counter, sighed at the comment. "I know, but you know I got so many things on my plate right now. I can't distract myself with anything. Or anyone." Levy, the blue haired girl, gestured towards the boy, "one date won't hurt. I mean he comes here everyday. Can you imagine how much money he's spent here just to talk to you?"

Lucy picked up her rag and faced Levy, "why should I consider it?" The blue haired girl motioned at the boy once more, "his dedication is worth considering." Without waiting for a response, Levy grabbed a cup from another worker and placed it on the counter, "order for Natsu."

The boy walked over and grabbed his cup, "thank you. I'll see you guys tomorrow. See ya Luce." Lucy smiled but shook her head back and forth, "don't hold your breathe, my answer will be the same." Natsu laughed and walked towards the door. Waving once more at the both of them before leaving, "we'll see."

~Next Day~

Levy sighed as she locked the doors. Walking sadly back to the counter as she placed the keys down. "Well now you did it Lu-chan, he was a nice guy too!" Lucy took off her apron while she counted her register, "what did I do?"

Levy puffed her cheeks as she sat down on a chair, "you scared him off. He didn't show up once today. Not even to check if you were working. You just had to say you weren't changing your mind." Lucy lightly laughed from Levy's reaction, "I was being honest." The blue haired girl stood back up, mumbling something before going back across the counter to clean up.

Twenty minutes passed by, Lucy finished counting and was ready to leave. She stopped after putting her jacket on, knowing her friend was upset. "I'm sure he was a nice guy, but I had to be blunt about it. If I led him on, he'd only get his hopes up for something that's not going to happen. Even if I did give him a chance, with how busy I am, I wouldn't have time for him. It'd cause problems."

Levy put her jacket on as well, making a pouting face as she grabbed her purse. "I know, I just thought you guys would've been cute. Plus how hard he tries for you was adorable!" Lucy smiled apologetically, "sorry Levy." The blue haired girl waved her hand, "it's okay, I understand it's not the best time for a relationship." She turned off the lights before heading towards the back door, "let's go grab something to each Lu-chan."

~~~
It's been a little over a week since they've seen the salmon haired boy. Since the day he said he'll see them tomorrow, he hasn't walked through those doors yet. For some reason, Lucy was starting to feel anxious.
