So this setting is in a reality scene. Where they go to school with no magic powers.

*Natsu's POV*

"Heya Luce," I said catching up to her. We always walk to school together. She smiled at me, "hi Natsu."

So Luce and I are best friends. We usually don't do things without the other. Lucy's seen as the hottest girl in school, but really she's just a quiet little nerd. But don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have her any other way. And I'm the kind of guy that people would see as a playboy jock. But I'm not. I do focus on my education, and I like sports. And I definitely don't support the idea of treating females like they're 'toys.' I don't have a girlfriend, I guess I just never thought about having one. Oh well.

We walked to school and went through our regular schedule, we met up at lunch. "Hey Natsu." I saw Lucy wave at me. I smiled, "hey Luce. Ready to get lunch." She nodded. We got our lunch and sat down. After a while she looked at me, "Natsu"

     "Yea"

"I can't hangout today after school."   Wait what? I looked at her, "oh uh why not?"

She looked nervous, "well uh I um got a...a uh...a d-date." Wowwww that hurt. Like seriously not just because we do everything together, but because I have a major crush on Lucy Heartfillia. I always have, but I always knew that she wouldn't be into me. And now the time has come to see her with another guy.

     "Oh uh really?"

"Yea, um Nick from my chemistry class asked me...so uh I'll be with him today."

I nodded understanding, "well I wish you luck on that. But I just remembered I have to get my extra work from English. I'll see you later." Before she could answer, I got up. I wasn't gonna go to English. Instead I went to the roof, you can't blame me for lying. I'm a guy that just got his heart broken, at least let me be miserable for a few minutes. I left and sighed, well there goes my happy ending.

*Lucy's POV*

Natsu left without letting me respond. But he did wish me luck. That hurt. I really have a big crush on Natsu, but it's obvious he won't ever like me back. I couldn't take it anymore, so maybe dating will help me move on. Trust me when I say I'm definitely not looking forward to this 'date' with Nick, I think that's his name...if I remember right.

The rest of the day went as usual. It was pretty boring. The final bell rang and everyone left. I was going to wait for Natsu, but I forgot I have a date. Nick met up with me at the front.

"Ready to go Lucy? I was thinking about this little restaurant not far from here, how bout it?" I nodded in approval. He directed me to his car and we drove to the restaurant.

We got to the restaurant and let me tell you, it was laaaaame. It still is. We only got here 15 minutes ago and I'm already bored to death. They haven't even taken our orders. Nick was about to say something when someone else spoke.

    "Luce?"

I knew that voice like the back of my hand. I almost jumped with glee when I heard him. I turned around to reply, "Natsu? Hey what are you doing here?" He chuckled, "well I'm getting food of course. But you know I'm alone, sooooo.....mind if I join?" Nick was about to respond, "N-"

"Yes! I mean uh yea sure, why not?" He smiled and sat by me. Honestly I'm glad we ran into Natsu. No matter how hard I try, I won't ever get over him. So I might as well just enjoy the bond we have right now.

*Natsu's POV*

So I may have followed them here purposely. C'mon Luce and I do everything together, so a date without me? Hmph I ain't letting that happen. This Nick guy eyes me, it makes me feel good that I got him mad for interrupting their 'date.' I smirk to myself when Lucy starts talking. "So Natsu. How have you been?" Before I can answer, Nick throws in his two-sense, "but didn't you just see him like a few hours ago? Why are you asking him that?"

Lucy huffed at him, "well he is my best friend, so obviously I would ask something like that." I smirked while Nick slumped back in his chair. "So Luce, I was wondering if you wanted to go to that new library tomorrow?" I know she won't be able to deny, "yes! Of course I'll go!" She squealed.

"Wait up, we're supposed to go to a baseball game tomorrow. Are you seriously ditching me for this pink haired fool to go to a library? I thought you were a hotty, not a nerd." The nerve of this guy. I was ready to tell him off, but Luce beat me to it.

"First of all, you and I? Trust me, it was never going to work. Second of all, I think baseball is boring. And third, it's your fault for judging me just by how I look," Luce grabbed my arm and was ready to leave. Then she turned around and added another comment, "oh and one more thing, its salmon not pink!" She ran out the door and me closely behind. When we stopped and caught our breaths, I stood up and grinned at her.

"What Natsu?" I smirked and mimicked her, "'its salmon not pink!'" I couldn't hide my smile. Her face got flushed, "s-shutup! Or would you rather have him call it pi-"

I couldn't take it, I wanted Luce, I needed her. I grabbed her by the waist before she could finish her sentence. I pulled her into a kiss. At first she was surprised but she relaxed and melted into it. She wrapped her arms around my neck while I held her waist. It was perfect.

But of course stupid life and living had to pull us apart since we needed air. Before she could get mad at me I started talking, "sorry Luce. But I love you. I always have and I don't like the idea of another guy with you." I nervously rubbed the back of my neck. But she smiled.

"Natsu, I love you too. And honestly the only reason I went out with Nick was because I was trying to get over you. Sorry." I grinned at her, "it's ok Luce. What matters is we know how we feel." I slung my arm around her shoulder and we started walking.

     "Yeah."

     .

     .

     .

     .

     "Natsu?"

     "Yea?"

"You know you're still taking me to the library tomorrow."

I sighed and she giggled, "yea yea I know there's no getting out of it."
