"SAPNAPPPPPPP! YOUR FRIENDS ARE HERE FOR YOU!!!" Sapnap's dad, Bad, calls from downstairs and his heart skips a beat. 'This is it,' he thought to himself. He finally gets to leave the house and go out into the world.
"Coming!" Sapnap yells back and grabs his backpack and suitcase, then gives his childhood room one last look around. He'll miss it sure, but he has been waiting to go to university for years now. His cats were chilling on his bed as they watched him get packed; he gives each of them a kiss on their fluffy foreheads and leaves his bedroom. He heads down the stairs and walks through his very tall house, mostly built for his dad. When he reaches the living room he sees his 7-foot demon dad standing looking at the framed pictures on the wall; tears forming in his eyes. Sapnap can't help but feel his chest tighten. "Dad..."
"I know I know, I just can't believe that my Sappy is finally going to university!" He says trying to hold his emotions back. Sapnap drops his backpack and pulls his dad in for a hug, which leads him to pick him up in his arms. Normally Sapnap would try to escape this level of love, but not this time. "It only seemed like yesterday I found you crying alone in the flames," Sapnap's body flinches, it had always been the two of them. Even when Sapnap got older and encouraged him to go out and see people, his dad only cared about one person in his life, and that was Sapnap.
"It was the best decision I ever made bringing you home with me, I can't imagine what my life would've been like without you in it." My dad chokes the last part out unable to hold the tears back. Sapnap hugs his father close, a few tears of his own falling down. Adopted or not, this 7 foot 3 demon was his real father.
"Heh, you know I'm literally going to see you at least once a day at uni, right?" His father wipes the tears from his eyes and giggles. About two years ago his dad got hired to be a literature teacher at The University of L'Manburg, and that is how Sapnap and his best friends got accepted in the first place. And since his father a literature teacher, he had no problem writing the perfect essays for the three of them to help them get accepted.
"I know, it's just, I love you and I'm just so proud of you!" His father squealed. Sapnap was secretly excited to see his father everyday. When he was hired at the university it meant that Sapnap had to be home alone with the animals; it wasn't all bad, but he wished he could've always had his dad to come home to and see after a rough day at school, not just on the holidays. So yeah, he was happy about it.
"Haha, I love you t-"
"SAPNAP!" A masked man yells swinging the door open, interrupting the heartfelt moment with Sapnap and his father. "We have been waiting in the car for 15 minutes! I have been texting you to get your ass outside!" Sapnap's father drops his son and looks at his best friend, Dream.
"Lang-"
"DREAM!" This time it was DadBoyHalo who was interrupted by George running to Dream grabbing his arm, trying to drag him back to the car. "We're sorry, Mr. Bad! Dream, can't you chill for 3 seconds?" Dream grumbles something and waves Sapnap's father goodbye as the two of them head back to the car. Both father and son sigh in relief.
"Those fucking idiots," Sapnap mutters but immediately regrets it when in corner of his eye he sees his father's tail flick back and forth. He slowly turns to look at his father and waited for him to get scolded. Instead, he takes a deep breath and puts a hand on his son's shoulder, and smiles.
"You should get going, that way you have time to unpack and to explore campus! Also, I still have to pack up the animals. Don't you have a campus tour you get to go on?" His father asked.
"Oh, that's right! Yeah, I better get going," Sapnap puts his backpack on and grabs his suitcase. He starts to head to the front door, but then stops and turns around. "Oh yeah, I love you too, Dad!" And with that, he leaves his tall ass house and shuts the door behind him.
"About time!" Dream yells from the driver's window.
"Yeah yeah," Sapnap rolls his eyes and puts his luggage in the back of Dream's car. After he gets his suitcase situated he gets into the backseat of the car behind Dream. "You know how my dad is," He says while shrugging his shoulders.
"Yeah, it's like he has a stick up his ass 24/7," Dream says like laughing. Sapnap met Dream in elementary school and was in fact his first best friend. Dream was the first person to actually try to get to know Sapnap, while other kids thought he was a dangerous fire demon. Sure, Sapnap had a few anger issues when he was younger, but Dream was always there to help him calm down. Even though Dream was in the grade ahead of him, they grew up together.
"Personally I love your dad," George says while looking back at Sapnap with his blue and brown eyes. George transferred to our school during Sapnap's 1st year in high school and Dream's 2nd year. George was in the same class as Dream, and they hit it off. When Dream introduced George to Sapnap, he was skeptical at first, but eventually, the three of them became inseparable.
"Gasp! What about me George?" Dream says in a whiny voice. "You have any love for me?" The two of them are not dating, but they might as well be. It sometimes makes Sapnap feel like a third-wheel, but he has learned to just ignore it.
"Shut up, Dream, and take your mask off when you're driving!" George snaps, reaching for his mask. Sapnap couldn't help but laugh as the two of them bickered, until finally, Dream took off his mask. "You know you're not going to be allowed to wear your mask in classes, right? It's-"
"Against dress code, I know." Dream says with a sigh, as though George has been reminding him for the past few weeks. "There was a few moments of silence. Dream decides to speak up, "Finally. After two years, the three of us can finally go to university together." Sapnap relaxes and looks out the window.
"It really is amazing," The fire demon says. This is how close the three of them are: George and Dream could have already gone out to start their lives, but instead they waited for Sapnap to graduate high school. Then they had to wait another year in order for the applications for L'Manburg to process. Now they are starting their new lives together.
