He looked down at me like every woman wishes to be looked at by the one. It's an understatement to even say the loveliest thing about him, he's the garden I run through exploring every flower not understanding all but admiring them.
"You bring out the best in me" Eli softly whispers while he places his chin on top of my head while my head is still resting on his chest
Eli separates his body from mine and slowly turns me around half way like a ballerina. The feeling of when our bodies disconnected felt so purely empty. Mid way the spin he collides his front body on the back of mine. Eli's chest connected to my back with no gaps between us.
Suddenly we hear a bunch of ruckus outside, quicker than the speed of light Eli and I jumped away from each-other. As fast as I could I changed the music while Eli sprinted to the hallways closet to get the broom and sweeper. Eli runs back towards me tossing me the broom as we quickly jogging to the living area where the tree would be placed making it seem as if all we were doing was cleaning up.
"Need a hand?" Eli walks up to Miguel and Demetri helping them drag the tree in
"It's freezing out there" Demetri takes off his gloves blowing into his hands trying to warm them up with his breath
"I was the one outside for 40 minutes trying to pick a stupid tree" Miguel says irritated
"Not my fault Moon wanted a specific tree" Demetri emphasized "specific"
"I like the tree" I say while my head is leaned on the handle of the sweeper looking at the tree that's shaped like a pear, thick from the bottom as it gets skinned to the top.
The smell of the tree was filling up with living room area, when all of us got done looking at the tree for a hot minute we dragged it to the corner of the other side of the living room. We placed it near the huge window displaying the snowy mountains.
"Moon and the rest got stuck in some traffic, the black ice got some people back in town,they won't be here in a bit" Miguel says taking off his beanie and coat
"Lots of cleaning you guys did around here" Demetri bends down and wipes his fingers on the floor which has very little dust
"We kept getting..distracted" Eli says confidently
"Oh jeez" I whisper quietly to myself remembering what Eli and I were exactly doing
"How long were you guys out for?" I asks
"Eh maybe for like an hour and a half" Miguel looks at Demetri for reassurance
"Yea for about an hour and a half" Demetri confirms
"Oh cool" I say thinking about how an hour and a half felt like so little with Eli
"Y'all want hot chocolate?" I ask walking into the kitchen
"Make it extra hot" Miguel says jumping into the couch
"Did you know that water doesn't boil at 212 degrees it starts boiling at-" Demetri starts talking all his nerd nonsense before Eli quickly throws a pillow at him and says
"Dude what did I say about cooking it with the nerd shit" Eli looks annoyed
"My bad" Demetri grabs the pillow and holds it on his chest
Moments pass and i'm pouring the hot chocolate into some mugs to hand out to everyone. I remember on the trip Yasmine and I made I got some small cookies to pair with some hot chocolate. I walk into the pantry where Mitch put everything away.
"Oh god" I whisper to myself Mitch put the box of cookies on top the shelf which is very high up
Moon needed the stairs to hang some lights up on the exterior of the house which she had left the stairs outside. I was not in the mood nor in the right clothing to walk outside in the freezing cold as Demetri stated.
I decide to wing it and just tip-toe my way up the shelf's. I'm up one shelf trying to reach for the cookies when my foot slips off the tiny gap i'm stepping on and my grip let loose. Unexpectedly Eli catches me his grasp on my clothes holding me tall before falling onto my behind.
"You should be more careful" Eli laughs with second hand embarrassment written all over his face while my whole body is red as a tomato
"I was j-just trying to get the uhm cookies" I point up to the cookies
Eli scoffs looking at the cookies high up on the shelf. Eli reaches for them effortlessly standing completely normal.
"This what you were looking for" He hands me the small box of cookies
"Exactly this" I smile gently grabbing the cookies
Eli and I eyes connect swiftly, his blue eyes were so beautiful you'd just get lost in them. Eli's broken eyes can tell me stories for days that can make my heart weep. They are soulful in a way that they tell me things he'd never dare to say through his mouth. They were icy but my hands could be warm enough to deforest. I knew in this exact moment was the realization that in these beautiful blue eyes is the sea, the sky, and all of the reasons i'd be okay with getting lost in.
"What's the wait up" Demetri interrupts the moment Eli and I were having yet again
"Oh cookies" Miguel peeks behind Demetri reaching over and snatching the cookies from my hand
"What's going on here" Demetri looks genuinely confused
"She just needed help reaching the cookies" Eli walks away shoving Demetri
"What's up with him" Demetri says offended
"I don't know" I walk away from the pantry over to where the mugs of hot chocolate are
"And you know what if werent behind the wheel we wouldn't have gotten into that traffic" Sam and the rest come inside arguing over god knows what...again.
"You shouldn't have given me the keys if you didn't want me to drive!" Chris argues with Sam
"We're about to eat dinner stop with the fighting" Moon says gently
"Moon it's the triplets and Sam..when will they ever stop" I laugh at Moons expectations
"Luna we got the tree" Miguel says hugging Moon from behind
Luna. Miguel gave the nickname to Moon since he's Ecuadorian he's always wanted to give her something special since she's so special to him. After winning her over after many battles and hardships he won her over. Moon slowly fell for Miguel after all the tests Moon put Miguel through, from patience, accountability, strategic working. Moon finally realized Miguel was the one for her. Since then, they've been very much inseparable.
"I love it" Moon innocently smiles at Miguel leaning her head on his shoulder as Miguel wraps his arm around his waist as they both admire the tree he picked out.
Slowly their heads start to lean in closer to one another's steadily their lips connect and passionately kiss..Yet again I feel a pair of eyes glued to me, anticipating to look up from Miguel and Moon, I get the sudden urge to look up. Low and behold once again Eli's eyes connected to mine.
"Don't think we've forgotten about our little victory" Mitch says handshaking Bert
"Which is" I laugh trying to ignore Eli's perfect presence
"Oh cmon Mia? back in the arcade when all of you badly lost" Chris says shoving chinese food in his mouth
"Right" My eyes widen
The stupid bet.
