🌙 Chapter 15 🌙

Yutsuki Pov

"So how are you feeling after escaping last night?" I asked, tidying up the fresh flowers in the vase.

"I was scolded like hell."

"Bien merecido."

Kaoru looked away, sulking like a child as he sat on the hospital bed. Getting dragged back here by Kojiro and I when he passed out at Sialaluce yesterday.

"How's Shadow?" He asked after a moment of silence. The man in question was unexpectedly attacked earlier today, at the basement parking lot, with a baseball bat, by someone affiliated with 'S'.

Although I asked someone to take care of that guy already, it's still better to be wary of such a thing happening again.

"He might not be able to skate for some time.. but I already received a report that the assailant has been cleaned u-"

'Shit.'

"Report from who?" Kaoru questioned, narrowing his eyes at me while straightening his position. "I'm pretty sure Kojiro told me that the police didn't get involved."

"By someone I trust, that's all. I can't possibly just sit here as Shadow's attacker goes around town right?" I reasoned, trying to finish the topic.

He still doubted me by the look of his eyes, but decided to let me off the hook, knowing that now is not the right time to ask me such things.

"I'll go visit Shadow, might come back later." I stepped out of the room, seeing him wave me off nonchalantly.

The hospital that Shadow was admitted to is the same as the one Kaoru was in, which makes it easier for us to visit the two.

I arrived at the 8th floor, where Langa and Joe were busy chatting while fixing some flowers to give to Shadow. "How's he?"

The two of them turned their heads at me before answering. "Still the same. The manager left for a while so he kinda got noisy." Kojiro answered, chuckling faintly.

"Right, Langa." I went near the boy and handed him something, he gave me a confused stare but accepted it anyways after hearing my explanation.

"Then I'll-" I paused when I was about to enter Shadow's room, feeling my cellphone vibrate through my pockets.

"Hello?"

"Ah- Yutsuki-san? Sorry for calling you all of sudden, I'm the manager of the shop where Reki works at, Oka."

"Yes, I remember. Did something happen?"

Somehow, my hands have been trembling since earlier today, even before I found out that Shadow was attacked. Something wasn't sitting right with me, and it shows.

"It wasn't actually a big deal for Reki, but it might be for you, anyways...."

I distanced myself from Kojiro and Langa, pacing around in front of the window as I gazed at the orange sky.

"...please give me the time, location and if possible, the number of people." My head started to throb in pain, the recent events took too much of a toll for all of us.

First Kaoru, then Shadow, and now Reki.

And the cause of their injuries is all related to skateboarding nonetheless. Adam, some guy who was dumped and held a grudge on Shadow, the guys who ganged up on Reki are most likely skateboard thugs.

"Oi Yutsuki, you okay?" Kojiro asked, tapping me on my shoulder. I nodded in response and proceeded to dialing a number on my phone.

"Sorry Roja, there's more to clean up. I'll send you the address and cctv footage, take care of them please."
