Yutsuki Pov

"A reserve race? Naturally it would be Joe or Miya, huh?"

"It's Reki."

I choked on my drink at the same time as Shadow exclaimed, not believing the news. Kaoru, Shadow and I were seated around a table inside the hospital's common area, the two of them looking matchy-matchy with the bandages around their heads.

"Adam nominated him."

"How come I never heard of this?" I questioned, putting my drink down on the table.

"Since when did you ever look at announcements anyways?"

"Tch."

"That kid surely didn't accept, did he?" Shadow asked, leaning on the table.

"He's not smart enough to decline." Kaoru gave me a sideways glance, as if pertaining to something.

'Well that's rude.'

"Is he a moron?!" Shadow suddenly exclaimed, earning the attention of other people. He went to his 'Hiromi-chan' mode for a second before going back to being Shadow.

"That idiot..."

"Anyways, the special event thing is more troubling." Kaoru turned his head to me, a serious look in his eyes. "It might involve you, Yutsuki."

"And why would it involve me?"

"You know that Adam's still targeting you right? He won't stop until he gets what he wants, just like he does with Langa."

Shadow let out a scoff, resting his back on his wheelchair as he looks at us. "That guy's crazy for sure."

"He's deadly crazy."

People started gathering at 'S' earlier than usual, even when Adam and Reki's race was not until later, most of them came here anticipating what the 'special event' was about.

"Look! The screen-!"

We all looked at the direction of the screen, where it indeed showed whatever the special event is.

'Adam - Moon, special event... Beef.'

I chuckled bitterly as everyone started talking about the upcoming race, looking forward to it more than the actual tournament race.

"You're not gonna decline?" Joe asked quietly, bending his knees a little so I can hear him better, which I found a little offensive.

"I don't like the idea of racing against him again but- I have a reputation to uphold don't I?" I answered cheekily.

The crowd began cheering, notifying us of Adam's arrival. He entered quite normally tonight, striding towards our group the moment he saw us.

"Moon, are you surprised?"

He extended his hand to me, which I ignored without another thought. "Not really. I figured you'd do something bitchy sooner or later."

Adam laughed loudly, taking his hand back as he spun in his heel and started walking away. "Then you best get ready."
