Panic Attack

After Aljaz left, I snuggled down in my bed, well as well as I could in a hospital bed, and decided I'd have a nap. I had so many things going through my head so a nap might make me feel better. But as I lay down I started to feel like I was back in that horrible place and I couldn't shake the feeling that I wasn't there and I was in the hospital. I sat up and pushed the panic button next to my bed.

"Janette darling what's wrong?" The nurse asked coming in my room.

"I can't forget about that place, every time I shut my eyes I'm right back in that room!" I said starting to cry.

"Aw Janette it's okay! You're in the hospital, you're safe, she can't get to you here!"

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Of course, remember you always have someone outside of your room per your Mums request! We won't leave you by yourself!"

"Can Dianne come up and see me? I'll feel better if she's here."

"Of course, technically visiting hours are over but I'll make an exception for you! Just tell her to tell the front desk that she has permission to come and see you!"

"Thank you! Sorry what's your name?"

"I'm Fiona!"

"Thank you Fiona!" I took out my phone and called Dianne.

"Hi Janette! Are you okay?"

"No not really, I had a little panic attack, but Fiona's letting me have a visitor, do you want to come up and see me?"

"Of course, I'll be up in five minutes!"

"Okay see you then!"

Five minutes later, Dianne knocked on my door and came in.

"Hey bestie!!" I shouted giving her a hug.

"Hey Janette! Thank you for letting me come up Fiona!"

"You're welcome! I'll leave you two alone! Janette I'll be right outside if you need me!"

"Thank you Fiona!"

"So what's wrong?" Dianne asked sitting on my bed.

"I tried to go to sleep but every time I shut my eyes I was back in that room and she was hanging over me and I just couldn't shake the feeling that she was here." I said shuddering.

"Janette don't worry she isn't going to get to you here, not with your security outside your room."

"Yeah that was my Mums request, it was either I had security or she stayed with me at all times."

"Em Janette... what do you think about what Aljaz said? Do you really think his Dad was in on it as well?"

"I don't really want to think about that to be honest! I really thought his Dad liked me... it doesn't make sense though, him letting Aljaz go to the police and find me, just for him to be in on it?"

"Yeah it doesn't seem right."

"Or maybe they have some other idea, like they let me escape so they had time to plan something else... like they are going to kill me this time!!" I said starting to cry.

"Janette don't say that! They aren't going to kill you they won't get the chance!"

"Yeah okay they can't get me in here, but what's stopping them from trying it once I get out of here, I can't have security twenty four hours a day."

"Janette you'll always have us looking after you, and I can't see Aljaz ever leaving your side can you?" Dianne said rubbing my shoulder.

"No I can't, but I'm still so scared!"

"You'll feel better once you're at home, once you're back in your own bed it'll be better."

"Thank you Dianne!" I said giving her a hug and wiping my eyes.
