Where Is She?

"Dad has she been found yet?" I asked when my Dad came over to me.

"No the police are still looking for her! She really doesn't want to face up to what she did."

"Probably because she knows that her Son will disown her as soon as she comes back! Well she won't be seeing me for a while, she'll be going to prison for a long time for this!"

"I don't want her to go to prison..." my Dad said sitting down.

"Wait what?! Dad are you mad?! She nearly killed my girlfriend, who's the size of a 12 year old remember?! She deserves to go for that!! I can't believe you would say that!"

"Yes okay Aljaz what she did was wrong but maybe she has a reasonable explanation as to why she did it..."

"I don't care what her reasoning was! All I know is I nearly lost the one person that I care about! I don't care if she's my Mum, I want her to go to prison for this!!"

I ran out of the hospital and took out my phone, everyone had gone home to give me and Janette some space. I opened the group chat and sent everyone a message.

New Message.

Aljaz: Guys you're never going to guess what my Dad just said, he doesn't want my Mum to go to prison!!

Dianne: Wait what? Why?

Aljaz: He thinks she has a reasonable explanation as to why she did it.

Nadiya: Aljaz you don't think your Dads in on it as well?

Aljaz: If he was why would he let me go to the police in the first place?

Giovanni: To get you to trust him...

Gorka: If that's true that is sick!! My suggestion would be as soon as Janette's allowed out the hospital you move away from here with her!

Aljaz: Do you really think my Dad would do something like that though? Why go through the trouble of getting the police involved if he was in on it? It just doesn't make sense!

Katya: It does sound pretty fishy... why else would he not want her to get caught?

Aljaz: No I don't want to believe my Dad has anything to do with it!!

Oti: Sounds like you need to speak to him Aljaz, if he has anything to do with it he'll be honest with you!

Aljaz: Okay I'll keep you guys updated!!

I walked back into the hospital and met my Dad in the canteen.

"Dad can we go somewhere else? I need to talk to you in private!"

"Anything you need to say you can say it here!"

"No Dad I don't want to talk here! I'm just going to tell Janette that I'm going home for a while and I'll be back to check on her soon. I'll meet you at home!"

I left the canteen and made my way to Janette's room.

"Hello Bučka! How are you feeling?"

"Hello Bučko! I'm okay, is there any word on your Mum?"

"No nothing yet... well that's what my Dads saying."

"What do you mean by that?" Janette asked looking at me worryingly.

"Well we were talking just now and he mentioned how he doesn't want Mum to go to prison."

"What why?!" Janette shouted sitting up in bed.

"Careful Janette! Don't hurt yourself!"

"Why doesn't he want her to go to prison? She deserves it for what she did to me!! I thought your Dad liked me..."

"I have a horrible feeling that he had something to do with it..."

"What do your family have against me?! Yes okay I'm from Miami but I haven't done anything wrong!!" Janette said starting to cry.

"Janette it's okay sweetheart don't get upset! It's not you, it's just my parents being the way they are!"

"But surely they understand that you can't stay with them the rest of your life, they have to understand that they need to let you go! All parents struggle with letting their children go but someday it's going to happen... wow I went deep there!" Janette said laughing.

"Hey you cheered me up!" I said giving her a hug. "Right I'm going to go, I'm going to have a word with him, but you have my number and you have the group chat, if you need any of us just shout!"

"I will thank you! I love you Bučko!"

"Love you more Bučka!" I said closing her door. Now to talk to my Dad and find out what's going on with him!
