Axel laid beside his wife.
She slapped his crotch playfully, "you still got it."
He chuckled, "yes I do."
Melinda listened to Father Rudy read the bible and reflect on the meanings. He cracked a few jokes.
"As a priest, I run into a lot of strange people and they have odd requests. This one man wanted a funeral for his dog and he wanted me to be part of it. I said no, no. The man happened to be rich and said he'd give the church a million dollars. Well, the church has debts. Finally." Father Rudy yawned.
"What did you say to the man."
He smiled, "well, sir, you should've told me your dog was Christian!"
Melinda laughed.
"Azimuth?"
"Yes, my love?"
"Did you ever think about me over the past months?"
"All the time, my dear."
She smiled.
Jesse and Mike didn't sleep at all.
In the morning, they kept moving and went to a reservoir.
The kids played in the water, Axel heard a low growl emerge from the woods.
He hushed everyone, "grab weapons, there's crawlers."
Everyone nodded and did as ordered.
"Don't shoot, it's me."
"Chandler?" Anne asked.
Marisa came out and smiled.
Alison, Anely, Marisa and Chandler and a little boy.
Marisa was crying, "we found Jack."
"Who?"
He was eight, had blonde hair and blue eyes, "me!!"
Father Rudy approached the boy, "may got bless you, Jack."
Jack smiled and showed the father his cross.
They talked for a long while.
Anne hugged Chandler.
Marisa joined in.
"Introduce us to everyone." Chandler told Axel.
"Well, first, let me introduce myself. I'm Azimuth Azazal Azalean. And this is my wife Natasha Azalean. That's Jesse, Mike, Father Rudy, Cindy, Beth, Lindsay, Carol, Daryl, Dean, Sam, Nathanael and Charlie. You know everyone else."
Jaime hugged his mother.
"This is the happiest I've been since this all started," admitted Roberto.
Everyone smiled.
"How are you alive?" Gus asked.
"Well," Anely, "we are stronger than you think. My crutches can, surprisingly, crush a zombie's skull. I don't know about Marisa-"
"You know, there is such a thing as a back door."
Axel thought about their situation, "something's not right here. It's the apocalypse and we're all having a merry time. I don't understand."
"Well, aren't you a ray of sunshine?" Chandler said.
Axel chuckled, "I missed you, kid."
--------
Axel I mean, Azimuth does have a point. This is too happy.
Glad I caught myself, right?
Yep, you guessed it.
The next chapter will be HELL!
