"I'll stay here with these guys, protect the main house. Find Castiel." Jacob had insisted he come along, and I couldn't exactly tell him no. I skidded to a halt in front of the porch and Jacob hoped out, a shotgun in each hand. "Be safe!" He yelled and slammed the door shut. I slammed my foot down on the gas, swerving slightly before righting the wheel and heading towards the tree line. A giant wolf emerged and I barely missed it. My breathing was laboured as I searched the tree's for Cass and attempted to navigate the woods at the same time. They weren't as thick as the woods surrounding Jacob's house, but there was no straight path to take.
My car left the tree line and I entered a large clearing crawling with wolves. Snarls and howls flittered in through the windows and I realized I had a problem. I had no way of telling Drake's wolves from Kade's. "Shoot first apologize later." I mumbled. I whipped around two wolves snapping their teeth at each others throats and rolled down my window. Betty was in my lap, ready to be put to use, but I didn't want to take any chances. Instead I grabbed a dagger from the many in the center console and launched it at the two wolves. It conected with the larger, darker, one's shoulder and it yelped. The other one took the opportunity to sink it's teeth into it's neck.
As I neared the center of the clearing I sighed in relief. Castiel's huge wolf was there, bigger than anyone elses. Drake was there too, in his human form, fighting against a man with a scar running through his left eye. Castiel was keeping other wolves from interfering with them, batting them away easily. It amazed me that Kade hadn't fled as soon as he'd learned he was fighting against two Lycan's.
I skidded to a stop next to Drake, almost hitting him. The sunroof was open and I climbed through it, taking several daggers and Betty with me. "Drake!" I yelled. His eyes averted to me for a second before he had to deflect a punch from the other guy. I threw a dagger in their direction and was able to breathe when it landed closer to Drake.
"Cass!" His giant head turned to face me and I noticed the blood on the side of his fur. I'd distracted him by calling his name, and he payed the price. A wolf a fraction of his size latched onto his injured side and he yelped. Pain shot through my side and I leaned into it, willing it to the stop. Castiel shook the wolf off and as he went to sink into him, I shot. The bullet landed between the wolves eyes and he didn't move again. Castiel nodded at me, and continued what he was originally doing. I assumed the guy Drake was fighting was Kade, and I couldn't get a clear shot at him. Suddenly, Drake was shoved away from Kade and Kade shifted into a large pitch black wolf. He jumped on Drake before he could shift and I gasped, jumping from the roof of the car. I ran towards the two and launched myself into the air, as I neared Kade, dagger poised, I was knocked out of the air.
I landed with and umph on my back. I didn't have time to recover as snarling jaws appeared in my line of vision. The only thing keeping the wolf from ripping my head off was my legs between us. My daggers had been knocked from my hands as well as Betty. There were more daggers on various places of my body, the one in the waist of my pants pressing into my spine.
The teeth snapped closer to my face and I screamed, putting my arm up to protect my face. It's teeth sunk into my arm and tore flesh away. I screamed again as my blood dribbled down onto my face. The teeth snapped again, tearing away my shirt and the skin of my stomach. I gritted my teeth as tears streamed down my face. I reached frantically down to my front pocket and yanked out a dagger. As the wolf leaned in again, I plunged the knife into it's eye. The wolf howled, it's other eye fluttering before dropping closed. The wolf collapsed on top of me, knocking the wind out of me and pressing my injured arm and stomach down painfully. "Castiel!" I screamed trying desperately to push the wolf of me. I closed my eyes and tried to use my knees to get leverage on the wolf's body. The weight was lifted from me and I opened my eyes, gasping for air. Castiel's wolf was leaning over me with worried eyes. They found the injuries and he whimpered, nuding it. I moved it away from him and sat up. I took off my jacket and wrapped it around my arm tightly. "I'm fine Cass." I breathed, getting to my feet. Castiel nudged me towards the car, telling me to leave. But I shook my head at him. My arm was soaring with pain but I wouldn't go until this was done.
