Chapter 7 - Work woes

Monday morning rolled around and Korra was feeling well rested after some much needed time alone. She did spend some time at the gym with Asami Sunday afternoon so they could formulate a plan to separate Korra from Kuvira without causing her to be completely heartbroken. Asami decided it was simple, just require all of Korra's time be spent assisting her. She would just be sure Korra was always busy. Eventually her and Kuvira would drift apart making a breakup much more tolerable. Korra wasn't so sure it would work but it was worth a try.

She was actually up early today and was really looking forward to work. Her whole day would be with Asami...they even planned out lunchtime. She actually felt like they were becoming friends and she knew she could keep this friend because Asami knew how she operated and wouldn't put up with her shit. She just hoped she could handle herself around her. She just couldn't let go of how wildly attractive Asami was....plus she was just an amazing woman. But she seems to feel that way about so many women. Would she ever know if she ACTUALLY liked someone?

She had so much extra time she decided to walk to work today. It was really beautiful outside, maybe a little cool for most people. This was her favorite type of day. Her phone buzzed in her pocket. She fished it out to look at the text.

KV- So sorry for not texting all weekend. A lot happened and I can't wait to tell you about it. Just a heads up tho....Suyin and Opal might be a little bitchy today with us. See ya at work.

This can't be good..I already know where this is going. I better text Asami.

K-Hey Asami, so...Kuvira just messaged me. I'm pretty sure she has broken up with Bataar and there could be some real issues today between Suyin, Opal, Kuvira and myself. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

A- Thanks Korra...and you're right. Suyin is in my office right now mad as hell at Kuvira. We'll talk when you get here.

Well so much for looking forward to work.....but I actually am though...because....Asami!

Korra slid quietly in the door and tried to make it up the stairs to Asami's office undetected. "Korra!" She turned to see Opal standing there arms crossed, one eyebrow raised. Shit...well let's get it over with. "Hi Opal ...whats good?" Opal rolled her eyes. "Not you...but also...you" what? What the fuck does that mean? Korra pulled Opal into the nearest hallway."What are you talking about Opal?" Opal narrowed her eyes. "Give me a break Korra....you and Kuvira? Did you really think no one would find out? I'm not worried about Bataar, he's got plenty of options..My mom's a little pissed though." Korra stared at her blankly. "Um.....ok so then you're cool with me and Kuvira?" Was that the good part?" Opal punched her in the arm. What the hell was that about? "You are totally clueless Korra, you know that Kuvira pretty much told everyone that works here about you guys. Everyone but me and my mom."

Now that she thought about it she had been getting a lot of weird looks and odd smiles from the women around here. It had started with with Zhu Li but she just figured everyone else was being friendlier since they knew her a little better. Though a couple of bold men had asked her out." Korra...ALL of the women are talking about you, most of them are VERY curious about what you did to turn Kuvira into a full fledged lesbian." This was not what Korra wanted to hear....but it was though. Ugh...I need to talk to Asami. She has a way of making things seem less problematic.

Korra snuck into Asami's office somehow managing to avoid Kuvira. Suyin was just outside staring Korra down. She had a soft look on her face...like she was sad? I don't know maybe not. "Well. You sure have everyone worked up. You and your new girlfriend....apparently she's had a lot to say about you." Asami was sitting on her desk leaning back on her hands with her legs crossed. Korra thought she looked pretty sexy like that. " I'm sorry Asami, I had no idea Kuvira had said anything to anyone but Zhu Li." The CEO stood up and walked around her desk to sit in her chair. "I'm not too worried about it. These things happen all the time. Juicy workplace gossip tends to fade after a while or til something more exciting comes along. Just stick close to me so we can keep you focused. I would however like to speak with Kuvira alone and then the two of you together." Korra wasn't sure how she felt about that..the two of them together. "Would you mind if I spoke to her alone first?" Korra urged. "I wouldn't mind at all. In fact I'll let you use my office since there are plenty of windows. I would also like you to speak with Suyin and Opal individually." Asami leaned back and crossed her legs. "Oh I already spoke to Opal...I think we're ok. I'm going to find Kuvira. I'll be right back." She didn't have to go far, it seemed that everyone was kind of hovering around Asami's office trying to see what was going on yet trying to look like they weren't. As soon as Korra came out Kuvira quickly approached her. "Is everything ok? Are we in trouble? I broke up with Bataar, I couldn't do it anymore." She hugged Korra. All eyes were on them. Korra was mildly irritated with Kuvira but even more so with all these people staring at them. She put her arms around Kuvira and pulled her into a passionate kiss. She slid her hands down to Kuvira's ass and gave it a hard squeeze. Fuck all these people...if they want a show I'll give them one. Korra opened her legs slightly and pushed her hips into Kuvira as she pulled her ass forward. She moved her lips to Kuvira's neck and began sucking and biting. Korra had no idea what was happening around her and she didn't care. She felt a hand grab her shoulder, hard...it actually kind of hurt. She stood still and turned her head in that direction. "KORRA! Why don't you and Kuvira join me in my office. NOW!" Asami stepped in front of her and slightly pushed Kuvira back separating the women. As they walked to the office everyone was staring at them, a couple of guys were clapping. Asami shot them an angry look and they stopped immediately. Korra smirked and Asami squeezed her shoulder even tighter.

"Ok ladies, I have no issue with your relationship. At all. BUT I need you to NOT do that here. Everyone is already buzzing about this and we need things to calm down. I realize you didn't intentionally mean for this to happen. But please, I need my employees to be able to work without interruption. I think for now it would be a good idea for Korra to work with me. We have a lot going on at the factory and I could use your help on some prototypes I'm working on. Kuvira...I'm giving you an office of your own. You've proven you can work alone and you do a good job. I have some designs I want you to look at and rework. Also, tomorrow You and I will have a talk regarding this "situation". You two are the most promising interns we've had here at Future Industries in a long time. Don't throw your careers away because you don't know how to control your urges in the workplace. Remember ladies Distraction is a thief. Korra I will let you escort Kuvira to her office so you two can have that talk you wanted to have but never got to. BUT, no physical contact please. When you get back you can talk with Suyin."

Korra walked down the hall with Kuvira to her new office, hands deep in her pockets trying to decide how she wanted the conversation to go. "So...what happened with Bataar?" She began. "I just didn't love him...I thought I did. He can be a great guy but....what I feel for you is just so much more. It's so strong." Korra took a deep breath "was he angry?" Kuvira stopped in front of the office door. "He was at first because I didn't talk to him right away about it. He seems ok now...I don't think he was that invested in us. Which is probably why I turned to you. It was still wrong though. I'm sorry for starting this even though I don't regret one second that I've spent with you." The office was surprisingly bigger than Korra thought it would be. "Ok, well I better get back to Asami before she comes and drags me back by my ear. I just wanted to make sure you were alright and that things with Bataar were ok." Korra gave her a quick kiss and turned to leave " I love you Korra" Shit. I should probably say it back...I kind of owe her...she left her boyfriend for me. She turned back and looked into her dark green eyes because that's the best way to lie when you're an asshole."I love you too" it wasn't completely a lie though. She did love her just not the way she deserved to be loved.

Suyin was waiting for Korra in Asami's office. Asami had gone down to the workshop and asked Suyin to have Korra come down when they finished talking. "Suyin I......." Suyin put her hand on Korra's lips "It's fine Korra, Bataar is a grown man he can take care of himself. I don't blame you for this. This is the responsibility of Kuvira and Bataar. Not you. Though I will say I'm a little surprised - you don't seem the type to be involved in something like this" she paused and looked Korra in the eyes " You must really love her." Great now I have to lie to Suyin too. "I care about her a great deal yes." Suyin folded her arms. " You're not in love with her Korra?" Ugh....why did she care. "I see. Well she is certainly in love with you. Anyway if you ever need anything let me know." Her face changed "I'm happy to follow Zhu Li's lead" She winked and gave Korra a pat on the ass as she exited the office. I'm never going to get out of this. Its like I'm being punished but in the best way. Shit I mean Suyin....the ultimate Milf...maybe I could just pop her and Opal off. Why do I love this so much...fuck. Just as she turned to leave and go downstairs she bumped into Opal. "Hey, where's your girlfriends office?" Korra was kind of wedged between Opal and the door. She pushed her hips forward into Opal's asscheek and smiled "Uh...it's down there. The hallway to the left...second door on the right. Why?" Opal was blushing but she slapped Korra's arm "Don't be a little bitch Korra, I don't want to have to tell Kuvira how you really are. I'll be working with her everyday from now on. Asami's orders." Korra raised her eyebrows "Go ahead tell her. You won't."

It was just about break time. "Asami!" Korra called down the hall off the workshop. Where the hell is she? "Down here Korra!" Oh seriously? She's in THE office. This is definitely a punishment. Hmmmm..a punishment from Asami sounds good to me! She walked in to Asami setting out some food on the desk. It looked like she had her chef make a big spread. "Uh..." Korra had a disgusted look on her face. Asami laughed "Don't worry, I had the cleaning crew spend extra time in this office...I told them to focus on the desk. Korra felt a blush come across her face. "From now on you'll have breaks and lunch with me...we have to keep you away from the ladies...no more sneaking around. This will be my second office." She is really ruining my fun...I deserve it ...but I could be getting so much ass right now! "Remember our plan Korra, we're going to get you through this self destructive behavior and away from Kuvira." Korra sat down and put her head in her hands. "Thanks, I'm sorry I'm so messed up right now. I hope you don't end up hating me by the end of this." Asami put her hand on Korra's back "I could never hate you Korra, besides I'm immune to your fuckboy charm, I can see right through it. Now let's eat so we can get back to work soon."
