Chapter 18 - Guilt

"Korra. Hey, wake up." Korra shifted in her bed. "Baby...wake up so I can say goodbye to you before I have to leave." She slowly picked up her head and looked around. "What?" She didn't see anyone. "I'm on your phone." She sat straight up and grabbed her phone. "Sami." She rubbed her face and smiled. "I have to go meet Suyin, I just wanted to say goodbye and tell you I love you." Korra looked into the phone and pushed her hair out of her face."Ok, I love you, text or call me whenever you can." Asami smiled and blew her a kiss. "Goodbye baby" "Goodbye Sami". Korra needed to get up and get to work. She wasn't looking forward to it, well part of her was, she needed to avoid Opal. How could she do that? Maybe she could tell Zhu Li she wouldn't be in today. No, she needed to finish working on that engine, it was kind of a big deal. She jumped through a shower and got dressed. She decided to dress a little more casual today since she would be working on the engine and getting dirty. She wanted to be comfortable too. She wore a pair of her ripped jeans and a Future Industries t-shirt she had picked up from the gym with rolled sleeves. She also decided to wear a baseball hat to keep her hair out of her face. It was navy blue and said RCU Hockey. So maybe it was A LOT more casual. Either way she didn't care, she just needed to hurry up and get to work.

As soon as she came through the door, Opal was standing there almost like she'd been waiting. "Damn Korra! You look sexy as hell!" Korra smirked and kept walking to find Zhu Li. Opal followed walking right next to her. "Why are you in such a hurry?" Korra didn't respond. "So now you're going to ignore me?" Opal lowered her voice. "So you wanna tell me why we can't hook up...like what's your reason?" Korra thought for a minute then stopped and turned to Opal. "Listen, I'm flattered that you're being so persistent but I can't do this type of thing anymore. You saw how hurt Kuvira was....it's just not good for me to be fucking everyone. Ok?" Opal looked at her confused then leaned in close keeping her voice down. "Its not like I want anything from you Korra. I don't want a relationship or to fall in love. I just want some good hot sex. I want to be properly fucked by a woman and you're my number one choice." Korra felt a wave of desire wash over her as she eyed Opal. "Why? Why do you want this so bad? Don't you have a boyfriend?" She grabbed Korra's hand and dragged her into her mom's office. "I do have a boyfriend. A boyfriend who isn't ready to have sex yet." Korra furrowed her brow. "Really? I mean that's actually good. Sounds like a respectable guy." Opal crossed her arms. "He is. He's the best guy ever and I really love him." Korra looked confused. "Then wouldn't screwing with me be cheating?" "Not as far as he is concerned...because you're not a guy. Plus he knows who you are." Korra looked surprised. "He does? How? Wait does he go to RCU?" Opal smiled. "Ya his name is Bolin, I think you even have a class with him." "Oh, no shit! I do know who he is." Korra responded. "Wait a minute. Opal, are you a virgin?" Opal put her hand over her face in embarrassment. "Uh...yes why?" "Well don't you want him to be your first?" Korra asked. "No, I want it to be you..I need some experience before him...but not a guy." Korra was appalled, that didn't make any sense to her. At the same time her being a virgin really turned Korra on. "Opal, we have to get to work." "Korra do you not find me attractive?" Korra sighed. "You're kidding right? You're totally hot and I would love having sex with you but I just can't. Come on let's find Zhu Li." Korra left the office with Opal following close behind. They made their way to the workshop but Zhu Li was no where to be found. "Well I'm just going to get to work." They spent the rest of their time working in silence. Korra started feeling like maybe she had hurt Opal's feelings by rejecting her. She hated telling women no. She kept seeing Opal staring at her out of the corner of her eye but for some reason she remained silent. Zhu Li finally showed up and apologized for being late. They all took a late lunch, including Kuvira, and sat together at the same table in the cafeteria. It was a little unusual but everyone seemed to be in a good mood and acting normally. Opal was sitting a little closer to Korra than she should be. They were all having a good conversation when Korra felt Opal's hand on her thigh. What the hell is wrong with this woman? She glanced over and raised her eyebrows at Opal. She just smirked and kept creeping up Korra's thigh. Zhu Li and Kuvira were oblivious, they had their eyes on eachother for most of the time. Korra coughed and stood up. "Excuse me for a minute." She quickly headed to the bathroom. Fortunately there were a few people in there, they had even formed a line. She just stood in line like she was waiting. Of course Opal was right behind her. Korra turned and whispered. "Don't you have any boundaries? I said nothing can happen between us." Opal looked around then discreetly grabbed her ass. "Damn, you have a nice firm ass." Korra pulled her out of the bathroom and into the hall. She found a large utility closet and pulled Opal inside. "Opal! Please stop fucking with me. This is legit sexual harassment at this point." Opal winced. "Ok, ok calm down. I just feel like....I....I can't help myself. I won't touch you anymore, I'm sorry." Korra sighed "Opal, I just...I really do find you attractive." Korra was slipping. She craved this kind of attention and being in this close space with Opal was getting to her. The sexual energy in the small space thrummed through her body. "So then..." Opal moved in closer, Korra grabbed her waist and put her face in Opal's neck. "....you do want me?" Korra felt the familiar buzz of excitement that came with a new sexual encounter. "Ya....I mean I've wanted you for a long time....but I shouldn't be doing this." Opal played with Korra's shirt collar and moved her lips closer to Korra's. "What's stopping you? You've fucked just about everyone in here, why stop now? It's just one more time." Opal put her hand in Korra's hair at the back of her head. She pulled it back exposing her neck. Korra let out a moan. She wasn't going to last much longer. Opal kissed her neck and put her hand between Korra's legs. "Fuck.....Opal....I...I'm seeing someone. I can't do this." Opal kissed her on the lips. "That never stopped you before. This will be our little secret, I won't tell a soul." Korra pushed her against the wall and positioned her knee between Opal's legs kissing her aggressively. She tasted like maple syrup? Not like Asami.....Asami...she had to stop..NOW. She pulled away from Opal. "Opal...I'm sorry..I shouldn't have done that. I can't do this I...I'm in love with someone and I can't do this to her." Opal whimpered at the loss of contact. "Shit Korra...I'm so fucking turned on right now....fuck." She huffed pouting for a moment. "But I understand...I didn't realize you were that involved with someone. Who is she?" Korra looked away. "I can't say, I don't want to hurt Kuvira. That's why I haven't told anyone...I figured it was too soon." Opal smiled and stared into Korra's eyes thinking for a moment. "You must really love this woman, you never acted like this with Kuvira." Korra grinned. "Ya she's amazing and beautiful and......just perfect." Opal had a sudden realization. "Ya Asami is an incredible woman." Korra froze for a moment. "What? Asami? I mean she is incredible but...." Opal interrupted. "Korra, don't worry about it. It's so obvious anyway. But for Kuvira's sake I won't say a word." "Thanks Opal, uh...we should get back to work." Opal laughed. "Ya I suppose we should, but do me a favor, if you EVER end things with Asami....please call me before you start fucking everyone. I want to be at the top of that list." Korra rolled her eyes and smirked "Sure."

The two women walked out into the hallway chatting and laughing. They walked toward the bathroom and back out into the cafeteria. Kuvira had been at the other end of the hallway and saw them come out of the closet. She couldn't think of any reason they would have been in there. It had to be sex. She had always known how badly Opal wanted Korra. She decided she would ignore it. Korra wasn't her problem anymore, though it did hurt her to see it. She ended up joining them down in the workshop to finish out the day.

Asami had been texting Korra all day and had gotten no response yet. She has to have looked at her phone by now. Its almost time for her to be home. She was starting to panic wondering why, for 8 hours, she hadn't gotten even one text. Suyin asked her to get a drink again so she did, figuring it would keep her mind off of Korra or at least give her someone to talk to about it. She approached Su already sitting at the bar. "Hey, what a day it's been huh?" Suyin turned and smiled, embracing Asami. "Hi, its definitely been a long day that's for sure." Suyin could be staying with her older children at their estate but it was quite a ways from the main rail station where they spent a good part of their days. She also enjoyed chatting with Asami, and didn't want to leave her alone to hang out with Varrick. Asami checked her phone. Nothing. She waved down the bartender. "Gin and tonic please." Suyin sipped her drink watching Asami closely. "Waiting to hear from Korra?" Asami looked up surprised. "Uh....yes..I haven't heard from her all day." Asami slumped down in her seat putting her elbows on the bar. "I know her and Opal were putting that Spirit Corp. engine in yesterday and today. That requires a lot of time and effort. You know that." Suyin reminded her. She sighed. "Ya.....I know, but she should be home now." She stirred her drink with her finger. "It must be hard to trust her considering her reputation." Suyin turned to face Asami. "Since I broke things off with Korra I've been thinking about her a lot. Her relationship with Kuvira and Zhu Li and of course myself. She seems to lack self control when it comes to women and based on what I know of her relationship with each one of us.....she has trouble saying no or at least resisting temptation. What will you do if that problem presents itself in your relationship?" Asami had thought about this a lot actually considering the long talks she'd had with Korra about her behavior. "Well, I'd want to kick her head in. But I've been trying to help her since I've known she does this..I always felt like she just needed someone to help her work through it, so I would want to be understanding..I mean it's an addiction as far as she's concerned. Relapse is part of that...right? But it's so different now that I'm in love with her. I feel like I would just die if she even thought about someone else. So I'm not sure how I would react. Asami glanced at her phone again.

K-Hey Sami, I'm so sorry I missed all your messages! I was really busy all day. I just showered as soon as I got home...sorry I didn't text sooner. Love you. Text me

She looked up at Suyin with a big grin. "Well, she finally texted. I'm going to go call her if you'll excuse me. "Suyin squeezed her hand. "Of course, go talk to your girlfriend." My girlfriend.

Asami loved the way that sounded. She got to her room and got out of her work clothes. She sat on the bed and dialed Korra. "Hi Sami." Asami's stomach felt a little nervous. "Hi baby, you must have been real busy all day to not even text me back once!" Korra raised her eyebrows in fear. "I know...I'm so sorry..I...th-that engine was a real pain in the ass...Sami...I...." Asami cut her off. "Calm down baby I'm just kidding...I know your busy." She chuckled at Korra's panic. "Seriously though how were things with Opal today?" Korra's heart jumped into her throat. "Oh....well...uh...she was really bothering me today and I finally had to tell her off." Asami scoffed. "What exactly did you tell her?" "I...um...I told her about you...well first I just said I was seeing someone....and that I was in love....then she guessed it was you. I hope you're not mad." Asami felt her heart swell in her chest. "I'm not mad at all...I'm glad you told her....I love you Korra." Korra let out a sigh of relief but she still felt that guilty pull in her chest...she had to come clean sometime but she didn't know when she should. For now everything was good. She told Asami some of the truth and Opal wasn't going to bother her anymore.
