Ashton's POV

I'm crushing at Shallo's for a few days. I'm so befuddled, I need to hold off her at the same time I wanna be around her. She's still upset with me. I've tried ways to cheer her up, but she wouldn't budge. Tough nut.

Dad is still persistent about me signing the contract. Today is the day I have to sign and make a decision that would probably change my life forever.

"Hello father!"

I stand in the doorway as I greeted  boldly. I peer at the two figures silhoueted by the sun which up until now had sank reluctantly in the horizon.

"Hi son, Come in."
I adhered and that's when the two man came in an unclouded view.

"Where is Maia? I need both your signatures."

Dad corks his head as he looks past me. He eagerly hands me the papers and I skim through disregarding his question about Maia.

"Before I sign, briefly explain why I'm doing this."

I say and one of the men shifted uncomfortably in his seat. Probably taken a back by my confidence.

"Before I explain, this is my lawyer, Black diamond.

He points at the man who looks nothing like a lawyer. He has thick dreadlocks and a nose ring.

"And that is pastor Alles is reg."
I snort to myself.
I didn't wanna judge a pastor. My mouth didn't but my mind judged every detail about his peculiar appearance.

"After I'm gone, everything will be under your name. There are a lot of rivals after my companies specifically The blades."

He started, emphasising the word blades.

"You'll lose everything in a blink of an eye. You are my only son. I only want the best for you. All you need to do is sign, write her name, she will sign anytime. Your signature is more needed. Give the contract to the pastor after she had signed." He says in his calm, cold voice.

I nod and take the papers.

"Where are you staying son? I've missed you." He asked curiously.

"Aunt Ria's."
I can't tell dad where I'm staying. He'll ask information and learns about Shallo. I already cautioned aunt in case dad asks about me.

I sign and take the contract along with me. I instantly ordered cheese burgers with extra fries. I call Andre and instructed him to deliver my order at the apartment.

Shallo's POV

I just came back from work. It's been 5 days since I've been staying with Ashton. He's been trying to make me forgive him but I'm not ready. It's not that I care. Me making him sick is enough to make me forget about him being my friend.

The only reason I've allowed him to squeeze in is because it's his father's place. I can't say no. I still didn't hear anything from the police about my car. So Ashton has to drop me off and pick me up. Although tonight, Yara, my co-worker dropped me off.

I hear a loud thud outside and me being me, I trudged to the door. Ashton stumbled in through the backdoor, his lower lip bleeding. Andre tries to prevent him from falling.

"What happened to him?"
I place Ashton's arm around my shoulder.

"Fight!"
He says avoiding eye contact. He's hiding something.

"I'll get an ice pack."

I run to the kitchen, grabbed some ice and a first aid kit.

I poured alcohol on a cloth and dabbed it on his wound. Luckily it isn't deep.

Andre steps forward and hands me a paper bag with two burgers and fries, just what I needed.

"It's Ash's order, please sign for him. He is way too drunk to do it himself."

I take the board and signed. He smiled to himself.

He's clearly intoxicated.

"Have you two been drinking?"

"Maybe."

He shrugs heading to the kitchen.

"Hey mamii."
Ashton says his eyes half closed.

"You know what? You look soooo cute when you're angry."

"And hot. Hot wife you are." Drunk Ashton is flirtatious, i don't like it.
I dab some more alcohol on his wound applying slight pressure.

"Owwww! Shay, take it easy on my lips. They come in handy."

"Sorry."
I chuckle. He surely won't remember anything in the morning. Drunk to remember.

"Why did you get in a fight?"
I ask not hoping for an answer.

"Jake has gotten Danny..."
He murmured before he flaked out.

Andre must have left. He's not in the house.
I cover Ash up and placed a small cushion under his head. I turn all the lights off and head upstairs.

It's a Sunday morning. Praise Jesus. I walk into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for me and the big baby.

"Morning!"
Ashton greets me. Grumpy I may say. I take in his view. A black T-shirt with matching basketball shorts.

"Hi."
I respond plainly, beating the eggs. If he's gonna be grumpy, then I'm gonna be grumpier.

I can feel his eyes on me but I chose to snub it. What is going on in his head? I made scrambled eggs and avocado sandwiches, opted on Mango juice instead of tea or coffee. It was awkwardly silent. I decided to lighten up the mood just a bit.

"Is your lip still sore?"

"No"
He says bluntly. Biting into his sandwich.

"Andre said you got into a fight."
He goes quiet for a few minutes before he answered.

"I don't know. I don't remember."

"What do you mean you don't remember?" I persuaded, inattentive of how he's about to react.

"Shay, I don't remember."
He answers softly gulping down his juice.

Not disconcerted as I expected. Didn't walk away like I anticipated. I grab my now empty paper plate and threw it in the bin.

"Are you still upset with me? "
He asks unlooked for.

"No. You only said what was in your heart."

I said truthfully rinsing my glass.

He sighs, making his way upstairs.
