We walk into the house hand in hand after an hour drive. I tell you what, Ashton's been clingy recently. He leads us to the dinning room. Huge bowls of different colours lined up far in the corner.

"Goodmorning Avo!"
Everyone is indulged in one thing or two. His grandma is arranging the plates in order on the table. A few more people flooding in from behind us.

"Goodmorning Avo!!"
Ashton repeats boomingly, attaining his grandma's attention.

She turns to register whose voice called out for her.

"Ninno!"

His grandma finally says.

Her face lit up like a Christmas tree.
I chuckle at his name and he squeezes my hand.

She must have been a beautiful woman in her youthful days. Seeing is how her face stands out. She seems to be in her late 50s. That's when I saw ten, twenty more other people on the table of the huge dinning room. Two younger guys and a girl that's around 10 to 11 years old and Yara? Yara is here. Maybe I won't feel left out after all. She smiles at me from the end of the table and I grin back.

"Ninno!" The girl says. Running up to Ashton, hugging him. He hugged her back with so much love and joy in his eyes.

"Ash Ash!" One of the guys said.

"Ashton!"

They all called out different names in unison.
I can tell he's really favoured and loved.

"My favourite grandson. I thought you weren't going to come."

"We are also here Avo. You keep favouring Ninno. Wait until mom gets here."

"Stop being so jealous Bebe. Ash is always here unlike you."

A boy around Ashton's age says out of the blue to another boy his age I'm sure. What I'm not sure about is if he's offended or rather joking. He's good looking I may say but Ashton is still top-notch. He pulls his iPhone 8 out shaking his head as he smiles to himself.

"God knows I love my grandkids the same. Ninno and Gid just have unique flavours."
She pulls Ashton in a bear hug as her eyes landed on me.

"Oh is this the young girl you got married to?"

Her eyes roamed over me and suddenly all eyes are on me.

"Guys, Avo, meet Shallo. My wife."

"She's your type and you know what that means." The guy whose name sounded like Gid says smirking, whilst nodding his head. Ashton smacks his lips as he hid his smile, shaking his head at his cousin.

I just stand there embarrassed, uncomfortably looking at nothing in particular. I hate these moments. I waved at them as Ashton placed his hand on the small of my back and suddenly pulled me close to him. Probably registering how uncomfortable I am.

"Why is she so skinny? Her skin is so pale. Ninno, is she eating enough in that house?"

"Grandma, she's fine
she has everything she needs in that house."
