You just couldn't wait for the bonfire to begin, you were resolved to ask Minho what's going on. You just wanted a satisfying answer as the cluelessness drove you crazy, why would someone do that? Why would anybody push someone away who saved their life? Not only did you ask yourself the same questions all the time, but Minho's isolation from you also hurt your feelings. Your heart ached every time you saw him, you just wanted to talk to him, you didn't want to lose him. It felt like everything was slipping through your fingers and you were powerless.

Minho was so important to you and you thought that he felt the same towards you, but every minute that passes with Minho ignoring you, made you more and more insecure and impatient. It also gave you a lot to worry about: What if he really doesn't like you? What if he wouldn't even say a word when you spoke to him? What if he was just nice all the time, because you were the new one? You wanted to forget all these thoughts, but they dragged you down, you felt like you were drowning in them - you wanted Minho back.

To pass the time until the bonfire night you helped Newt and Leo to collect wood for the bonfire. The Bricknicks were chopping the wood and a few other Gladers collected the small logs and brought them to the fireplace. The remaining Gladers prepared the celebration by decorating the place around the fireplace with flags or helped Frypan to get his little portable kitchen to the fireplace. While you collected the wood chopped by the Bricknicks, Gally stared at you all the time with a gloomy look, he hasn't changed a bit from when you helped him, but right now it didn't matter to you, not like Minho did. You were thinking about how you would speak to him all the time.

"You seem a little bit lost in your thoughts" Leo pointed out while the three of you were walking back from the wood chopping-place to the fireplace, carrying the wood. "I'm just a little nervous, that's all" you answered rapidly, you didn't want to talk about it. You didn't want your problems to be the topic of the conversation all the time. "You don't need to be nervous, it's Minho, your friend. Talk to him like you used to, you know you did nothing wrong and Minho owes you an answer. Just ask him what's going on and after all I'm gonna be at the bonfire all the time if you need something, love" Newt stated while the three of you dumped the logs in front of the fireplace where the other Gladers already setted up the pile of wood for the fire.

"Thank you Newt" you said with a smile, you were thankful Newt recognized that you didn't really want to talk about it at the moment. Sometimes you were surprised how well Newt got to know you, it felt like he was able to read your mind, yet not in a creepy way, it rather gave you a feeling of security, knowing that someone was able to understand you. You decided that someday you would be able to give him the same comfort and the same security as he gave to you. He deserved it - he deserved someone who listened to him and gave him advice, just as he always did to everyone else. Somehow you had the feeling that there was something going on inside of him, something he didn't want or couldn't talk about and you wanted to free him from this burden.

The preparations were in full swing and every Glader did his part, just as you. You remembered your own bonfire night and how you didn't even realize how much work it was to set up everything. The whole carrying of the wood logs brought you to your limit pretty fast, once again a reminder why you were a Med-jack and not a Track-hoe or a Bricknick. Newt offered you multiple times to take some of the wood you were carrying, but you declined. You wanted to help and while thinking about Chuck, it felt like you would do it for him.

You still felt sorry for the little kid. His age somehow could possibly make him an outcast, but then yet again he was pretty confident even towards Alby, the leader of the Glade. But you had the feeling that he only acted so carefree to protect himself from the harsh reality, just like you did until Newt talked to you. You would make sure to do the same if Chuck ever needs someone he could talk to, you would make sure he felt at home in the Glade.
