I'm sorry for the long wait for this chapter. I had a lot going on privately, but I'm happy to be able to update again :)

Something seemed off today. You couldn't quite put your finger on it, but there was this lingering feeling in your stomach and it made you feel sick. You tried your best to not think of it until it would eventually go away. However the feeling had occurred as soon as you opened your eyes and didn't seem to leave any time soon. The only thing you were able to do was try to distract yourself from it by talking with your friends, so you sat under a big oak tree with Hank and Thomas on your side after lunch.

You watched the rays of sunlight dancing through the gaps between the leaves and the birds who sometimes were brave enough to land right beside you and search for seeds in between the grass. Thomas and Hank were talking about something, but you only listened with half an ear, you were way too busy figuring out what causes the strange feeling in your stomach. You felt like something was about to happen, something which would change things, but you couldn't tell if it would change things for the better - Were you going insane?

"What do you think, Y/n?" Hank asked you and tore you away from your thoughts. "W-what?" you blinked multiple times to get back into reality and shake off your confusion. "We just talked about how long some of the Gladers have been here" Tommy started to explain "and how little some of us have experienced in contrast to them" he gave you a bittersweet smile and you began to nod. "Yeah, I also thought about that a lot, especially when I was a Greenie like you Tommy. Living in the Glade turned me into kind of a philosopher" you answered with an awkward laugh and pulled your legs closer to your upper body, searching for comfort.

Hank looked at you with a puzzled look and tilted his head a bit which caused a few of his brown locks to fall in front of his eyes. "What's wrong?" Hank asked you and Thomas now also looked at you with a curious look. You on the other hand just shrugged with your shoulders "What do you mean?" you asked right back. "I know you well enough to tell when somethings off" Hank stated, "So what's bothering your mind?" your best friend rephrased his question. You looked between him and Thomas, wouldn't it be weird to tell them that you've had this weird feeling in your stomach? You felt like Newt would be a great person to turn to with something like that, but that wasn't an option right now.

"I've just felt a little bit sick recently" you answered and gave them a half hearted small smile, which you felt didn't appear genuent to Hank, as he furrowed his brows. Thomas however didn't know you well enough to tell your facial expressions apart from fake and genuent, so he placed a hand on your shoulder, which sent a warmth down your arm, and offered you an apologetic look "Maybe you should rest a bit? I've noticed that you're at the Med-hut pretty often" he suggested. "You might be right" you responded and started to play with your fingers "maybe tomorrow I'll take a day off" you said as you gathered your things and started to stand up, "but right now I need to get back to work".
