Chapter 1

"Good morning Grandpa Gyu. How are you doing today?" A perky voice can be heard from the air.

"Doing great my dear. Will surely be busy with repairing other elves' houses today." The bearded gnome answered.

The pretty little fairy's wings flapped in The air and safely landed on the ground. She gave the old gnome a big hug.

"Why are you so excited Dara dear?" Grandpa Gyu asked.

"Nothing much." She shrugged while a gush of air blew her long curly hair.

"With that air blowing around you, I don't think it's nothing much. You're going back to the city again, aren't you?" He asked while his eyes were squinted.

She grinned.

"I knew it... Dear, you know your mother's not gonna be happy if she learns about this. You were already caught ones and you were banned from leaving the mountains because of that. You don't want that to happen again, right?"

She scratched her head and pouted her lips. "Mom's not gonna know." She chuckled and looked around before whispering something on Grandpa Gyu's ear. "I've talked to my friends to keep it as a secret." She winked.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk... You're a naughty little Sylph."

"I won't do anything foolish, I promise." She raised her right hand.

"What is it that's causing you to continuously go back to the city? Your curiosity will put you to danger little one."

She smiled brightly. "The city's full of enchanting things to explore Grandpa. And the creatures there... the humans are very intriguing. There's this one guy I've been watching ever since I was little and he's been through a lot... I feel the urge to help him every time I see him. It's like I'm attached to his emotions."

"Haaah.." Grandpa sighed. "Just be careful with what you're doing my dear. You know so well that as much as possible, we avoid dealing with humans for us not to encounter problems."

She nodded. "I understand Grandpa. You won't tell Mom about my little secret, right?"

"Do I still have a choice?"

She shook her head in response. "Thanks Grandpa Gyu. Love, love, love." She hugged him tighter. "Oh, I forgot to ask. I have not seen Bom. Where is she?"

"She went to your friend, Chaerin... I think they'll visit Minzy at the shore."

"Thanks Grandpa. You're the best. Got to go. I need to catch the other three Elemental Keepers." She spread her wings and prepared to fly. Her feet were already off the ground when she charged Grandpa Gyu with another tight hug. "Tell your Infinite babies I miss playing with them." She said while waving her hand, playfully flying in the air until she disappeared in the clouds.

"Are you planning to cross the portal again? Dara, you can't..."

"Yah, Chaerin! You're such a kill joy. Let her do what she wants. It's not like she's breaking the balance of nature if she crosses the portal." Bom said while playing with the pebbles on her hands.

"We can never be too sure. We are the keepers of the Four Elements. We should keep the task exactly as how it's handed to us." Chaerin lectured.

"Dara's keeping her task pretty well. It's not wrong to sometimes fill in that curiosity that you have. It helps actually. You explore new things and discover something in the process." Minzy smiled sweetly.

Dara placed her arms on Minzy and Bom's shoulders. "That's why I love you guys. You always understand my wants... my curiosity." She was about to give Minzy and Bom a kiss on their cheeks but her lips touched Bom's palm instead.

"That's gross Dara." Bom complained.

"What's gross with a kiss? It's my way of saying thank you." I chuckled.

"You always play around Dara. For ones, stop acting like a kid and be the Respectful Elemental Keeper of Air." Chaerin said.

Dara walked towards Chaerin and hugged her from behind. "I know you're just worried about me Chaerin... but I'll be fine. You should try checking on the other side too. The City's really inviting."

"Oh, I do love to try that too. But I'm not that courageous as you Dara. I might not be able to stand the difference between our realm and theirs." Bom changed her mood from excited to being worried.

"I've seen the city a number of times whenever I swim away to get some fresh air... I mean, different from what we have in here. They have a lot of ways to enjoy themselves. It's really fascinating." Minzy shared enthusiastically.

"That's right Minzy. It's super super duper nice out there. When you gain that courage Bom, I'll bring you there." Dara said and looked at Chaerin. "And when you change your mind about exploring the city, let me know." She told her and gave her a grin.

Chaerin wasn't able to do anything but to sigh. She knows that there's nothing that can stop Dara from doing what she wants. Not them, her friends and not even her parents.

"She's surrendering again since she knows she can't stop you." Bom chuckled.

"Eeee... thank you Chaerin." Dara hugged Chaerin again then gave a tight hug to Minzy and Bom too. "I won't be long. I just want to check on something."

"Let us know if you're in danger. You always block your thoughts whenever you're on the other side of the portal. When you do that, we get worried." Chaerin said.

"It's really not easy to use my mental powers over there for me to send you messages. But I'll try hard this time so you won't be worried." Dara smiled.

"Do not be gone too long. It's hard to explain to your mother whenever you go missing." Chaerin reminded.

Dara nodded.

"Enjoy your trip Dara. Bring us something from the city." Bom said.

"Do you want a human guy?" Dara teased.

"Stop joking around. Go if you will go Dara so that you can go back early." Chaerin scolded.

"Bring something nice for Chaerin so that she won't be grumpy all the time." Minzy joked.

"She's just being protective." Dara said. "Overly protective." Dara said and all of them laughed except for Chaerin.

"Be careful, okay?" Chaerin smiled at Dara.

"I will. They can't do anything to me. I'll throw them in the air if they try to." Dara chuckled.

"And I'll burn them to ashes if they hurt you." Chaerin threatened.

"I'll drown them in the ocean." Minzy boasted.

"And I'll bury them in the ground. HAHAHA." Bom faked an evil laugh.

Dara gave them a thumbs up. "You really are my bestfriends."

"Group hug before you leave Dara." Minzy initiated.

They hugged ever so dearly and went to the portal where Dara will pass going to the other side of the realm.

Something about the Four Elemental Keepers:

● Dara (Air Spirit known as Sylph)
- daughter of the ruler of Sylphs

- She's active, clever and intelligent and loves going to the human world.

● Bom (Earth Spirit known as Gnome)

- she protects secret treasures concealed in vast caverns beneath the earth

- jolly and carefree

● Minzy (Water Spirit known as Undine)

- She often stays in rivers and lakes but also loves to explore the ocean view.

- often spends time dancing with fishes in the water

● Chaerin (Fire Spirit known as Salamander)
- daughter of the fire King

- often ill-tempered and scolds the other three Elemental Keepers but is very caring towards them.
