What a nightmare.

I couldn't believe how unlucky I was that they'd met like that in the hallway. I could hear the shouting and I wanted to know what was wrong. Instead I saw Grace looking like she'd like to kill the girl in front of her.

Morgan had been a pretty big mistake, she was incredibly strange. Always wanted to do all of this weird stuff, always called me up asking about the next time. I had to get away from her, I thought I was done with her because she didn't go to our school. Instead, she ended up showing up at all of these random parties and trying to strike up a conversation with me.

Now, she was going after the one person I cared about most in the world. I wasn't entirely sure what had gone on between the two of them, but Grace was starting to cry.

I try to hurry after her as she bolts down the hallway, but Morgan puts out her hand to stop me.

"Let her go, let's talk just you and me." She says, grabbing my shirt and I swat her hands away.

"What is wrong with you?" I ask angrily and she laughs.

"That girl thinks she's your girlfriend." She says and I feel anger boil inside of me. "Well, I'm glad you're here, I miss you and I-"

"That girl is my girlfriend!" I yell and she shrinks back. "I can't believe you cornered her and made her cry, are you insane?"

"You can't be serious." She says with a small smile, trying to loosen the tension and I raise my eyebrows. "Why, she doesn't seem like your type?"

"You haven't got a damn clue what my type is." I say angrily. "I don't want anything to do with you Morgan, I want you to leave."

"This isn't your house." She challenges.

"Oh yeah?" I ask, crossing my arms. "And what do you think will happen if you stay? No one wants you here, you don't go to our school, I hate you and I don't want you anywhere near me or my girlfriend ever again." I say angrily and she presses her lips together. "Go home."

"She doesn't know you." She says quickly, as I walk past her. I pause, feeling my fists ball up.

"That's what's funny, Grace knows me better than anyone else. You haven't got a clue who I am." I say angrily and take off down the hall trying to find her.

I go up the back staircase and I feel a twang in my chest remembering the two of us hurrying up here on New Years Eve. She was so happy, smiling and laughing. She seemed to be sad far too often. I look around and all of the room doors are open, except for two.

One was the master which was always locked because Chelsea didn't want her parents' stuff touched. The other was a guest room, I hoped it was the room Grace was in.

I hurry down and tap on the door quietly. "Grace." I say softly. "Open the door, I'm sorry."

I can hear audible crying and my heart shatters. What had Morgan said to her? I couldn't even figure out what had triggered the sudden sadness, she knew that there were so many girls and she accepted me for it. What had done this to her?

I try and open it but the door's locked. I sigh and knock again, hoping she'd at least open up so I could talk to her.

"Come on Grace, please." I mumble. I hear some shuffling around on the other side of the door and I feel hope that maybe she'll open it.

"I-I just need some space." She says quietly from the other side and I shake my head feeling defeated.

"No, please." I beg, knocking on it again. "Just talk to me, I don't want you to be upset." The door suddenly clicks and opens, revealing Grace on the other side, mascara running down her cheeks.
