Grace

God I feel gross. Hangovers were always my nemesis when it came to drinking, no matter what I drank or how I did it, I always felt really disgusting the morning after.

I didn't feel sick or anything, but I was sweaty and I had a really horrible headache. My body felt like lead, but I had the meds in my bag to make it all go away. I just had to get up.

Last night had been amazing, it was nice to have one night of stupid reckless fun after weeks of work and being busy. Nik had been perfect, everything people had warned me about wasn't true. He stayed by my side, he cared about me, he didn't even look at the other girls around me and best of all, he told me last night that I always managed to surprise him.

Everything was so good finally, it took a while to get to this place, but now that we were here I was more than happy. I felt so lucky, so incredibly lucky to have him with me.

I turn my head and see him asleep right next to me in bed, he looked so peaceful. I smile and lean in to kiss his forehead, then I slide out of his arms and sit up slowly, feeling goosebumps cover my skin.

I took off my dress last night and just flopped into bed, I was so drunk I was just excited to lay down. I was cold now without Nik next to me and I scan the room for something I can pull on. His dress shirt is on the floor next to my dress and I quietly get out of bed and pull it on, happy to have something to keep me a bit warmer.

I do up the buttons until I reach my chest and I sigh, walking to the bathroom and getting one of the complimentary water glasses out. I start by just drinking a glass of water, then I splash some of it on my face. I fill the glass again and shut off the water, looking at myself in the mirror. I wipe off some smudged mascara and eye make-up and I smooth out my hair.

My paleness and dark circles were things I couldn't fix, I just take a deep breath and my eyes catch something. I look back at my chest in the mirror and I pull the edge of the shirt over to reveal a dark spot just under my left collarbone. Evidence of last night and just how rushed it was, he'd never put a mark on me before.

But it made me smile, it made my mind rush right back to last night. I'd never been like that and as soon as it was over I felt a little embarrassed. But he did what he always did and made me feel good about myself and who I was. At least the mark was low enough that I wouldn't have to wear turtlenecks or anything.

Had it even been there last night? My dress would've covered it but I was hoping no one saw it. I sigh with a smile and walk back out to the room again. I find my bag and I pull out ibuprofen, swallowing them with a vitamin-C tablet. My head was still pounding but I try to drink the rest of the water and put it to rest. What I really needed was coffee.

"My god." I hear behind me and I turn back to see Nik, stretching his arms up above his head. I smile a bit, feeling my face get hot and he chuckles. "There's nothing better than waking up to that."

"It was cold and I had to get out of bed." I defend and he nods with a smile, pulling his bottom lip between his teeth. That look always sent a chill down my spine, it made me feel wanted.

"Very sexy." He mumbles and I sigh running my hand over my forehead. "What are you doing up this early?" He asks, looking at his phone. "Check-out's not until eleven."

"I woke up with a headache and I just wanted to take something for it and drink some water." I explain and he nods.

"Hungover?" He asks and I nod.

"Like you wouldn't believe." I groan. "Feel like I was run over by a bus and then the driver u-turned and hit me again." He chuckles a bit at that and I do too until I wince from my headache.
