The wind blew into her face, the leaves flew as the rain poured on the dirty ground, the sun fading as the grey clouds covered it all. Crows flying as Adira did too, her eyes flew behind her as she observed the knights coming closer, with in the middle, the man she tried to avoid, Kristoff.
The slippery path made her horse slow down a little, but it had also its advantages, as she went further out of the forest she had noticed big bushes in her path; sudden thoughts flashed as her idea struck like lightning.
She tightened the halter in her one hand as she held the sword in her other hand, with a sudden movement, she entered the bushes, instead of cut them out of her way, she bowed down as close as the horse's saddle. She felt the sharp bushes on her back, but that hadn't stopped her from running, fortunately for her, she was small enough, not so fortunately for the knights as their armor was too big for the small cleft under the dorn bushes.
As the last bush went past she sat back on her horse, looking back to see the black nights struggling to get through the painful bushes, and with a smirk, she had yet escaped again.
She slowed down the horse that now belonged to her as she tried finding a perfect dark corner of the forest to hide. As the horse stood perfectly still she stepped off, trying to have her hood slide off with her. She walked to the horses' head, it had a pure innocent look, it probably had no choice but to serve its owner.
A lucrative thought entered Adira as she placed her hands on the horse's head, placing her head onto the horses'. With a grunt she tried her best to get the heavy armor on, it was too shiny and eye-catching to be seen with.
The pushes hadn't had any use as it hasn't moved a single inch, and with irritation in her grunts, a frustrated look appeared. "Come on!" As she lingered on the horse armor a tear fell down her cheeks.
The wind started blowing harder as the rain slowly faded, but so did the sun. All that was left were grey clouds and the noisy sounds of the birds chirping. The only psychical thing was the last leaves falling of the dead trees, as the winter season almost began.
Adira felt her salty tears on her lips as she broke down, the realization of grief-struck as the seasons did too-- everything fell apart. She fell on her knees as she covered her eyes with her hands, darkness was the only thing she saw as her heart shattered.
Her last love, the last piece of light had vanished as she felt herself grow cold, she swept away her salty tears as she stood up, there was no time to grief at this moment. There were scary sounds appearing as the sun lowered more, the light faded as the moon rose.
Adira trembled as her strangled sobs slowly faded, she brushed off the remaining dirt off of her dirty pants as she tried again, with all of her strength she pushed off the silver armor, and with luck, it came off easily.
She threw the armor onto the wet ground as she brushed off any remaining dust off the horse; and without any hesitation, she walked to the horse's belly and bowed down, only to see it was a male horse, it just needed a name,
Raven.
The thought of the name made Adira a little less empty as she had something to love again, although, she had thought. Her thought of thinking something to love again made her heart brighter, even though it was still as shattered as a broken mirror.
Her frowned eyebrows vanished as she stood back up, and jumped right onto her horse, Raven. She turned the horse around as she placed the first few steps. The forest branches became alive as the movement rapidly went up and down. The cold wind blew onto her face as she commanded her horse to ride.
With a slow pace, they walked through the cold forest, stars already shining in the dark blue sky, mixed with the yellow glow of the sun. Footsteps were the only sound, except for the owls howling.
Adira hadn't any idea where she was headed, but it hadn't matter, because, in the end, she had no home to go to. As she rode on the dirt floor, water puddles everywhere, she looked around herself, having her sword as close as possible.
The satisfying sounds of steps on the ground made Adira's mind calm as her thoughts wandered, her tears trying to break free, but she had to be strong. She had dealt with grief once, she could do it again.
Many miles later Adira felt her eyelids getting heavy, her fingers grew colder, and she couldn't feel her toes anymore. Her horse's pace became slower and after all the miles they have travelled, they had deserved some rest, after all, it's been a tough couple of weeks.
Adira stopped her horse as she carefully stepped off, with a deep sigh she looked at her tired horse, its eyes started blinking rapidly, but so did Adira's eyelids. The cold clothes she had worn all day were already dried up, she felt the dirt everywhere as her hair became more greasy.
She needed to rest for a bit, but even though she wanted to so bad, she couldn't. The night sky appeared as the moon did too, the stars were as bright as fire, the cold air breezed through the forest as she grew colder by the second. Adira lingered to the place she was standing, but as she needed to be wise, she was about to mount on her horse again.
As she walked to the saddle, she saw smoke coming out of the forest, not too far though, but not too close you could see it vividly, it hadn't had a lot of smoke, just enough to recognize it was a fireplace kind of smoke, there was hope for rest after all.
