Adira trembled as she attempted climbing out of the stream, its heavy water pushed her ice-cold body on the side, making everything more complicated, her body is panting. Her back had stabbing sensations as her fingers were as white as the snow, her cheeks as red as roses, but at the moment, she doesn't feel her legs nor arms.
Desperately she tried climbing up, and eventually, she finds her way up. Leaning onto her numb arms she tries catching her breath, and after a moment, she finds her way onto her feet again. Her coat was all soaked, all of her clothing was. Eyes pierced through the forest as she tried her best climbing on the big rocks, a few attempts later it worked.
With a struggle she tried sitting up, out of breath, she combed her fingers through her soaking hair. Rapid breaths continue as she tried with all of her last strength to stand up. How did I survive? Her thoughts were all over the place, how did she manage to survive a fall like that?
Her nose was ice-cold and the water slowly froze as her skin hadn't any warm covering. With a dreadful thought, she tried standing up, but as the attempt failed she stumbled on one of the many rocks near the stream.
The night slowly came, and by the second the sun vanished more and more until there was no sight other than the bright stars in the night sky. Adira pulled her coat over her-- even though, it was as cold as the water she swam in. She climbed herself the way up until she stood in the thick layer of snow.
Adira reached her hand to her pocket as a way to feel if she still has her defending weapon for the night. She rubbed a few times over her pocket but with a surprise, there was nothing inside of it. She looked over her shoulder as she thought she could see in an attempt to see where it went.
She looked back and had already realized it probably fell out of her pocket when she had jumped, with a deep inhale her eyes close she tried slowing her heart down, there wasn't anything to be scared about.
She grabbed her wet hood as she placed it over her head, tying the knot that was necessary for firmness. She looked at the dark space around her, there wasn't exactly much to see, but the moonlight sure helped her. She grabbed the best-looking stick she could find, although it looked average, she had learned a few tricks here and there.
She held the stick like it depended on her life and placed on her best face she could possibly do. She knew that the forest was a vicious place to be in, monsters crawling in the darkest corners, big worms crawling over your feet, she had seen it once in her life, when she was just so innocent and small.
There was one big advantage Adira had, the snow still coming out of the mild clouds, the thick layer on the dirt ground, some spots weren't covered, instead, you saw crunching leaving laying there. Adira took herself inside of the forest, keeping a close look everywhere her eyes went, every sound that came from the tightest corners.
With the stick in her hand, it hadn't had the best grip, her strength slowly vanished as the cold came closer to her heart. Her eyes pierced through every single dark spot, as the snow softly crunched under her feet, the trees keeping the moonlight out, and the crickets chirping like every cold night.
Adira's green eyes glowed as the moonlight reflected beautifully on it, before she continued making her way out of the forest she heard a noise; as she made herself turn around she felt an arm around her neck, a knife close on her throat, and a warm breath in her neck.
Her first thought was Kristoff, but then again, he was too dumb to find her, not like that anyway. "Don't make a sound, or the next thing you'll see is hell." A deep voice whispered, his breath against her ears, his body against hers.
Adira placed her feet closer to the ground, she grabbed her stick tighter into her hands, and as she was ready to turn around, "Hey! If you don't let her go right this moment, you'll be the one going to hell." Another voice said as he stood in the dark shadows of the forest, a bow reached out of the shadows, but that was the only thing you could see.
The leaves started moving rapidly, snow falling off the dead branches, the snowflakes that came from the sky flew as the wind did too. A bright orange light came out of the shadows, and as it seemed, it was the fire. "I said let. Her. Go." The man behind Adira slowly lowered the knife, his breath vanished away from her ears, and Adira's speeding heart finally calmed.
Adira turned around as she pointed her sharp stick towards the man, only to her surprise to see a bandit, his face was completely covered except for his nose and eyes, dark hazel eyes gazed at Adira's as he ran through the dark shadows, away from them.
Adira lowered her pointy stick as she turned herself around, facing the mysterious man that had saved her from what could've been a disaster.
She took a deep breath in as she looked at the man, coming out of the shadows as his light dimmed. "Thank you."
"Don't sweat it, what's your name?" The man came closer and a instant of distrust came over Adira.
"Oh, my name's Ad- Allison." The man looked up and down as he lowered his flaming bow. "What's yours?" Adira placed her stick into her back pocket, as a way to let the man show, she wasn't any harm— not yet.
"Names Milo.", His brown, straight hair almost covered his blue eyes, pretty like the nightsky. He held a wooden bow, it had a symbol on it, shining as the moon reflected on it.
"What got you in that trouble?" His grin made Adira's guard a little down, and as that soft grin eased her way of the overthinking thoughts that went babbling on and on.
"I got lost and than that male attacked me." Adira looked him straight in the eyes, no other expression than a truthful face. "You got lost in what, a storm?"
He pointed at the ice cold clothes she was wearing, they haven't dried up due the fact it was still a ice cold night, were snowflakes were falling out of the sky as rain.
"Where are you headed?" Milo asked her, he grabbed his bag, the one he was carring. Adira's hand went to her sharp stick as she was ready to defend herself, but before she could, he grabbed out two stones.
"Don't worry Allison, I'm not going to attack you." She closed her eyes for a second as her heart slowed down, she was still freezing and she could feel her muscles tighten together.
"Sorry, I'm not used to not be careful." She walked towards him as he lowered himself to the thick layer of snow. He drawed a big circle in the snow, he went as deep that you could see the dirty, green grass mixed with snow.
There was barely any light except for the moonlight reflecting into the deep woods, Adira hadn't had a clue what she was supposed to do, but all she could was wait until the bright suns comes up.
