Footsteps printed into the snow as Adira came closer to her destination, she hadn't yet figured out. Her red cloak she wore slid over the snow as she kept walking with her head down, and her sharp stick in her hand. The only thing she had right now was the cloak she wore, the other one he took.
Fortunately for Adira, it hadn't much value.
Every footstep she took she heard the ice stamped together, It was so deep, it almost reached her ankles. As Adira dodged every tree, bush, and branch that came in her way she smelled smoke, the kind of smoke when somethings burning.
Her head turned to the sky as she saw smoke reaching all the way to the moving clouds, with a rush she ran to the smoke, as she came closer the smoke became heavier to inhale. Running became harder as the snow was sticky and slippery, the branches that fell from the trees were in the way, and she almost tripped a few times.
She reached the last tree as she saw a village, in burning flames, from cozy wooden cottages to half destroyed houses.
The villagers screaming for their life as knights on horses slaughtered any last villager alive. Tears filled Adira's eyes as she ran as fast as she could to her small shed, her heartbeat as fast as a running horse, she felt her salty tears on her lips, and her eyes-sight became blurrier by the second.
Adira's hood fell off her head as she kept running, the fire around her, the knights running on their black horses while they slaughtered them with their black, silver swords.
She saw sparks of dust everywhere, kids screaming for their lost mother. Chickens, cows running everywhere, all you could see was despair.
Adira arrived at her house, she slammed the door open with her hands as she saw cold blood everywhere, nothing but sadness overwhelmed her-- grief did. She screamed as hard as she could, she fell down on her knees as her heart ached.
As her scream silenced, all she did now, was sitting on the cold, wooden ground, as all of her salty tears dried up. She stood up with an empty expression.
The silence quickly filled with horses roaming everywhere, everyone was slaughtered as Adira stood up, turned herself around, and walked out of the house full of murdered bodies.
She saw black horses with silver armor roaming around as their captains recalled them all, but that didn't stop Adira from walking towards them.
The burning fire everywhere kept vanished as the rain started pouring out of the sky, thunder came. Warm air became cold air, from snowflakes onto her cloak, to rain from the grey clouds. She walked closer as she grabbed a leftover sword on the ground, and the closer she came, the more scared she became as she pointed her sword at the captain.
She stopped walked as she stood infront of the big horse, it had iron armor, and its fur was as black as the night.
Before a knight could finish Adira off the captain's hand reached out to him, ordering him to keep himself together. "We meet again, bunny." The only thing you could hear was the pouring rain onto the armor of the knights, and the silence the village gave.
Adira's hand remained steady as it was pointed directly at the man on the horse, the knights circled around her, rain poured on the snow which slowly melted with the water. "Where. Is. My. Family." Adira's eyes flickered here and there, trying to hold her pouring tears in.
"Dead." He spotted out as he pierced through her cold eyes, filled with tears. The tickling rain on her shoulders as she lowered her sword, looking into her eye corner. The man took his iron helmet off as Adira frowned.
She wasn't even surprised, after all, they met again.
Adira took a hard grip onto the sword as she looked the man straight in his eyes, darkness flooded into her heart, her eyes barely blinked, and with a sweep, she laid the man onto the ground, he fell onto the wet grass as Adira ran to the horse, climbing up as fast as she could.
She pointed the sword to every knight who came a step closer, "Stay back, or I'll crush your captain with my horse!" As the blonde boy laid on the ground Adira held the ropes of the halter into her one hand, the other one held the heavy sword.
The boy tried to desperately stand up but failed as Adira had him in her power, her cloak hung over the horses' butt as she continued to hold her sword as sharp as she could. With one last look at the knights, Adira ran through the knights their horses.
Some knights fell, some didn't but it didn't matter, because Adira rode as hard as she could out of the village. She ran through the forest as the fire had dimmed completely, the only thing left was the grief filling her heart.
The hard-running on the ground was as loud as the pouring rain, she ran as hard as she could on her horse, with the other hand holding the heavy sword. Adira's sanity left along with the hard wind blowing through Adira's hair, as she drove out of the village.
Her last tear fell down her cheek along with the thousands of raindrops falling, into the forest before it all began.
Her heart ached as she felt hundreds of knives stabbing through her innocent heart, it turned cold like the season, her red fingers became warm as her whole body did.
She rode through the forests' path as she looked nothing but forwards, the silence of the rain wasn't for long as she heard a few other horses coming her way.
She looked back to see three knights running behind her, and for the first time, a grin appeared on her face, after all, she always loved a good chase.
