I looked at my reflection in the mirror and it was starting to get pretty obvious that I'm pregnant. For starters, my baby bump starting showing a little and my breasts were getting heavier. It's only been 3 months!
Sighing, I decided to not wear the summer dress i had originally picked out. I rummaged through my closet again searching for something comfortable yet pretty.
I came across an old white shirt and a long loose black sweater. I decided to wear it with jeans and my flat black boots. Pairing it with my black and golden clutch, i sent Terry a message that I was ready.
We hadn't hung out in the past few weeks and he suggested that we go for a movie night. Not only that, he went to see Dexter's lawyer last Saturday and he has a few things to discuss.
Really sorry, gonna be a few minutes late. Meeting is running late. These people just won't leave.
I frowned. Does that mean he hasn't even left his office yet? Frowning, i debated on what to text back.
Just a question, will you ever be on time?
I didn't want it to sound mean so I added a laughing emogi at the end. I hated people who weren't punctual. It just seemed rude and selfish. But with Terry, I don't know why I was keeping that hatred at bay.
Never mind that poor emogi, Lennie. I can feel your anger through your text. I'm really sorry. I promise I'll buy extra movie nachos.
I couldn't help smiling amusingly as i read his text. Boy, has he come to know me. It's funny how I couldn't seem to find the previous anger I felt anywhere.
Boy, you really do know the way to a girl's heart. Fine, nachos with extra cheese sauce.
I replied smiling to myself. Terry is such a good guy. And he's funny. And sweet. And handsome. I'm so glad I met him and we're friends now.
I stared at his back as he read the notice on the movie theatre's door. I was leaning on his car door thinking of something else for us to do. Apparently, it was going out of business and the building was shut down. It's a shame, really. They served the best caramel popcorn and they're nachos were to die for.
"Let's go to another movie theatre." I spoke as Terry made his way back to me.
He looked up from the notice he previously tore from the door. "We won't be able to catch a movie. We're late."
"Sure, we're late." I said, sarcastically putting emphasis on 'we'
"I said I'm sorry Lennie." He replied.
I wasn't mad at him. It was obvious he came straight from work because he still wore his grey work suit. Poor guy didn't even have time to change. "You promised nachos." I said.
He smiled and waved the notice up at me. "Not my fault." He spoke and came to lean beside me on the car.
We both stared up at the movie theatre in front of us. It was actually kind of sad that it was getting shut down. I had a lot of memories in this place.
"You know Annie and Wes tried to sneak me into the movie once and they both told me to go through the back door while they went through the front to 'distract' the management." I reminisced with a chuckle. "But I didn't know where the back door was. So I ended up in the bakery that's behind this theatre somehow. And when they both couldn't find me, they got our parents involved and they organized a search party to find me in the nearby woods."
He laughed in response.
"Eventually, the news got to the bakery and the baker realized i matched the exact description of the missing girl and I was returned back to my parents."
