"This movie sucks." Terry said, sitting beside me eating Doritos.
"You're a straight male whose not into romantic comedies." I rolled my eyes as I spoke sarcastically. "We get it."
He chuckled. "I just don't understand how you could like this crap." He said. "It makes zero sense."
I sighed. "I know it makes zero sense. That's why it's good."
He gave a look that said go on.
I sighed again. "It's the fantasy thats entertaining, Terry. The fantasy of finding someone and loving them and living happy ever after."
He stared at me for a moment. "Nah, I'd still prefer blood and murder to that fantasy."
It was my turn to chuckle. And thats when my phone rang. I picked it off the coffee table to see it was Mom. I wondered why she was calling me. She barely ever did. Then I looked at the time.
Holy Shit. It's past 12. I've never stayed out this long before.
Panicking twice in one night, i got off the couch. "I should get going." I said when he gave me a confusing look.
"Is everything okay?" He asked, concern evident in his eyes.
"Yeah." I spoke. "It's past 12, Terry."
"So?"
"So, I need to get home. I've never stayed out this long before."
"What, you have a curfew?" He chuckled.
I stared at him.
"Really?" His eyes widened.
"I told you my family is religious." I explained. Though it was not a reason why a 24 year old adult female had a curfew.
"You're an adult." He said.
I shrugged. "There are certain things you have to put up with when you start living with your parents again." I said. I need to find an apartment. "Which reminds me, you wanted to talk about the divorce settlement?"
"Yeah." He said, scratching the back of his neck.
I waited for him to continue but when he didn't i gave him a look.
"Are you going to sit down?" He asked.
"Do I need to?" I asked.
"It's a long talk, lennie."
I sighed. "Then it'll have to wait, i have to be home."
"Why?" He asked.
"I told you already my family's religious and you live in a very secluded neighborhood. I mean, who are your neighbors? Cheetahs?" I said, looking around.
"You can stay the night if you want."
I looked at him. "I'm not sleeping with you." I said, maybe a bit too hastily because he smirked.
"I'm not asking you to Lennie." He said. "But it's interesting to know where you're minds at."
And then I blushed. Goddamnit. I cursed myself for even saying that. These stupid harmones.
"No, I'm just saying you can stay in one of the guestrooms." He said as he stood up. "But if you want to sleep in the same bed, I'm fine with that too."
Why were his words doing weird things with my body. I mean, I was blushing profusely, there was something fluttering in my stomach and my mind was having some weird imagination trips. I didn't understand what was happening. Do I like Terry?
