"Remus, could you pass me the moonstone?" Audrey softly asked the boy sitting next to her as she stirred her cauldron, tucking a single strand of hair behind her ear. She glanced at the boy who had spaced out of the conversation.

"Oh, er, yeah" he whispered back, not wanting to disturb the quiet atmosphere of the potions classroom. The full moon was just two days away, and it started to affect Remus as it did every month. He lightly groaned in pain as he reached over to grab the last ingredient that they needed to finish their potion, handing it to Audrey. She smiled sympathetically, placing her hand over his. He squeezed it in support, as she worked on the potion.

Boom

"Ughh," Remus groaned in frustration as Snape's cauldron burst open, covering him and Lily in black sludge.

"WHAT IN THE NAME OF GOD!" Lily shrieked loudly, and Remus banged his head on the desk, while James and Sirius sniggered at their seat.

"POTTER, BLACK, DETENTION!" Professor Slughorn yelled at the pair.

"Help Aud, help," Remus whispered to the girl who lightly chuckled at her friend.

"We're done Professor," she called out as the professor was inspecting the accident, cleaning up the scene.

"Oh, yes, yes," he said, walking over to their desk, an expression of worry etched on his face. He looked into their cauldron, and seemed slightly impressed.

"Very good, very good, Ms. Potter and Mr. Lupin. It looks quite good. Pour it into a vial, and leave it at my desk," he said with a slight smile. So they did just that, and then exited out of the classroom.

"What do you wanna do now Rem?" she asked the boy, who casually swung an arm over her shoulder.

"I think I'll just go lie down in the dorm. I have a wicked headache. Keep the lads busy won't you? I need an hour of peace and quite," Remus said chuckling.

Audrey laughed. "Of course Remmy,". He smiled in gratitude, and walked away, sending her a small wave. She waved back with a smile.

"Hello kitten," Sirius said from behind the girl.

"Kitten? Where's that coming from?" she asked with a grin.

"Oh I don't know, it's kind of cute, isn't it?"

"No it's not," she said with a smirk.

"Oh shut up, you know you love it," he said swinging an arm over her.

Audrey rolled her eyes as Sirius smirked.

"Alright Sirius, don't forget the pact," James said warningly.

"What pact?" Audrey asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh, it's nothing Aud," Peter said, slightly flustered.

Audrey scoffed, and stopped walking, folding her arms, and facing the three.
"You guys made a pact, and didn't tell me about it," she asked.

"Uh, it's, it's nothing Aud. Doesn't even matter, it isn't even that important," Sirius said, also flustered.

"I thought it was kinda important," Peter said.

"Peter!" Sirius whisper shouted at the boy who immediately looked away.

Audrey scoffed again. "Seriously? You won't tell me?"

James shook his head not even the slightest fazed, being used to his sister's temper.

"Sorry Aud," Sirius sheepishly replied.

"Even you won't Pete?" she asked as a last resort.

He shook his head, slightly frowning. She looked at the three, disappointment etched on her face. She bit the insides of her cheek to retain her calmness, and let out a breath. She unclenched her fists, and with one last roll of her eyes, walked away from the three.

"Oh, and don't go back to the dorm. Remus doesn't wanna deal with you," she hissed, and walked away.

"You had to say that, you idiot?" Sirius said, punching James in the arm.

"She'll forget about it," he said rolling his eyes.

"Hey Sirius, you have to come home with us for the holidays," James said, looking up from his essay that he was half interested in. Sirius looked at him, and nodded sleepily. It had become tradition for the Black boy to spend the holidays at the Potters', and telling him to stay was a mere formality. Mia and Fleamont always made him feel more welcome than his own family ever had.

"Another death. A family of a muggle-born. Three people," Remus said, pinching the bridge of his nose in worry.

Audrey leaned over to his side, reading the headline of the Daily Prophet. A family consisting of muggle parents and their witch daughter was found murdered.

"Wait, isn't that Lexi Starling? The second year Hufflepuff," Audrey asked.

"Looks like it," Remus sighed.

"This is just the beginning. These people won't stop," Sirius said with disgust.

"We have a war on our hands. Sirius is right, this is just beginning," James said, his voice laced with worry.

"We can't really do much, now can we?" Peter said. His question was left unanswered, everybody in the room focusing on the same thing. Lord Voldemort.

The silence was broken by the common room door opening. Robert stepped inside, his Quidditch jersey muddy from practice.

"Audrey, can I talk to you? Outside," he asked the girl, and stepped out when she nodded. She got up and followed her boyfriend out, into the hallway.

"Er, what's up?" she asked him, folding her hands against the cold wind.

"Are you free for a date tomorrow?" he asked grinning handsomely.
The door of the common room opened up behind them, but the pair paid no heed to it.

Audrey sighed. "Sorry Rob. Not tomorrow,"

"Why?" he asked, furrowing his brows.

"I, um, I- I can't make it. I have to do some...stuff. Sorry," Audrey replied with a frown. It was the last day before they went home for their winter holidays, and the five had decided to spend the entire day working on their animagus forms.

"What kind of 'stuff'?" he asked suspiciously.

"Oh, nothing, just some studying with Lily and Mar. Marlene's really struggling in potions, and Lily and I agreed to help her out."
Robert raised his eyebrows and scoffed in disbelief.

"I know you're lying," he said with a roll of his eyes.

"What do you mean?" Audrey asked, her temper rising a bit.

"I know when you're lying Aud. And you very clearly are. Why can't you just tell me the truth for once?" He asked, his voice rising with every word.

"What the hell Rob!? I don't owe you any answers. And I'm not lying. Why can't you just believe me for once," Audrey said, getting angrier by the moment.  Robert scoffed in return, rolling her eyes at her.

"Just tell me where you're gonna be!"

"I told you Rob." Audrey said, exhilarated.

Robert let out a deep breath, closing his eyes, jaw clenched tightly.

"Talk to me when you're ready to be honest," he said with a grim expression, and walked away, leaving the girl alone in the cold. A lone tear made its way into her cheek. She quickly wiped it away, but then came another. And another.

Before she couldn't stop them.
