"Have any of you seen Audrey?" Remus asked the group of students sitting in the scarlet common room. The girl had vanished after the match, and was a no show at dinner. Hours later, she still hadn't returned back to the Common Room, or her dorms, and Lupin was starting to get worried for his best friend. It wasn't like her to disappear without telling one of her friends, especially after the Amos Diggory incident, that night at the party.

Alice Fortescue met his brown eyes, and shook her head with slight worry.

"She hasn't been back since quidditch, has she?" she asked, putting down her quill and parchment.

"No, she hasn't," the werewolf spoke, his worry deepening. "Is it just me, or something feels wrong?"

The others shook their heads, confirming his doubts.

"I feel it too," James said, running a hand through his hair, a frown on his face.

"She could have gone to the library, maybe?" Lily said, with a shrug of her shoulders, trying to sound slightly hopeful. The ginger's astronomy homework had been long abandoned, the Potter girl's whereabouts where much more important than Saturn's position in the retrograde.

Sirius, who had been listening to this conversation silently, pulled out the map, shielding it from others' views using a pillow. His grey eyes scanned the yellow parchment, looking for a trace of the girl he cared for so dearly. The last thing he would want was for something bad to happen to her, not realising how late he truly was. He let out a silent sign of relief when he saw her name. Audrey seemed to be making her way towards the Common Room with fast steps.

And, unnoticed to the Black's eyes, Evan Rosier seemed to be retreating back to the dungeons, right from the same spot.

The heavy door of the Gryffindor Common Room was pushed open, and the Potter girl came into view. Her blonde hair was tousled, a dry leaf or two stuck in them. She had a smear of dirt on her cheek, and slightly smudged mascara.

"Merlin, we got worried! Are you alright? We haven't seen you since the match," Remus was the first to speak, getting up and walking towards her with long strides. She glanced at him, her expression utterly bored.

"What do you want Lupin?" she asked, her voice irritated.

Inside, her conscious screamed at her, wanting to comfort the sweater wearing boy with a soft smile, and a few words that confirmed her safety.

Remus raised his eyebrows in shock, and stopped in his tracks, taking a step back. Confusion clouded his face.

"Er, what do you mean?" he asked furrowing his brows.

"I mean, how does it matter where I was, especially to you?" she said in the same tone.

"Because, as your friend, I care about you?" he said, his voice still confused. He had no idea why she was acting like that, so cold and distant.

"I could never be friends with a disgusting half- blood like you," Audrey sneered in return. Marlene let out a soft gasp, and James raised his eyebrows in shock. Sirius stormy eyes widened at her response, and Peter gulped nervously.

Remus stood there, not knowing what to say. A deep frown settled into his features, and he automatically backed away a few steps. The fire roared in the hearth, filling the tense silence of the scarlet room.

"Audrey, what's wrong with you right now?" James asked, getting up, and standing defensively in front of the auburn haired boy who was too stunned to speak. The blonde rolled her eyes at her brother. That seemed to be response enough, as she continued her path up to her dormitory, shoving his shoulder roughly.

An uncomfortable silence set over the common room, the feeble sound of the wind filling up the space.
