The black fabric fell down elegantly, as her long fingers traced the slight embelishments, admiring herself in the mirror. Her blond locks fell neatly, and a bottle of her father's potion sat on the night table. Her mother's locket adorned her neck, the smell of lavender wafting from it. Lavender for Audrey Potter had always been a comfort. Her mother smelled like lavender. It reminded her of home, of warmth. Being in her arms again. Safety and love. Her hands traced the silouhette of the dress, tightly hugging her upper body, and flaring out right at the waist.
A faint knock pulled her out of her thoughts. She turned behind, and faced a smiling Sirius Black. This was quite different from the famous smirk that had won over the hearts of his fangirls. This wasn't the grin that he sported while they planned for pranks. It was a genuine smile, reaching his eyes. His face lit up looking at the girl. Audrey smiled back, and Sirius made his way into the room.
"Mia asked me to get you," he said, taking a step closer to the girl. She nodded in response, walking upto the boy. She was a generally tall person, but still a few inches shorter than the boy who seemed to have hit a growth spurt. She stood on her toes, and started perfecting his collar.
"You, need to learn how to tie a tie properly Black," she said, while gently straightening his tie, as he looked down adoringly at the girl, a smile evident on his face.
"You look beautiful Audrey," he whispered, their eyes meeting. She smiled graciously, looking down as a faint blush appeared on her cheeks.
"You don't look so bad yourself Black," she said with a cheeky smirk, making Sirius laugh. He dramatically bowed, and the girl let out a chuckle in adoration.
"Well, may I?" he asked, lending his arm towards her, and she looped hers in his.
"You very much may,".

Lily and Marlene had already gone downstairs, escorting each other. Lily was wearing a midnight blue gown with a highly jeweled corset. It was a seemingly simple gown, but it radiated off of her making her look like an angel.
As for Marlene, she was wearing a deep red ballgown with a sweetheart silhouette. A small diamond necklace and her dainty solitaires complimented the girl beautifully. The dress fell to the ground, and trailed behind her for a few inches, and while on any other day Marlene would've already given up on the gown, and gotten into a pair of sweatpants, today was definitely different.
The two girls were talking to Mia Potter, who was wearing a simple gray evening gown. The woman had a certain charm to her, no matter what she wore, she would look effortlessly good.
"There she is," Lily told Marlene, pointing at Audrey and Sirius who were descending down the staircase, engaged in deep conversation.
"They look so cute. They should get together," Marlene said with a laugh and was immediately met by a hit from her ginger friend.
"What was the for!?" she exclaimed looking at Lily.
"She's dating someone you dumb arse" the girl replied with a roll of her eyes.
"Yeah, the guy who had been ghosting her for as long as I can remember. Godric knows why Aud is even with Robert. She deserves someone better than that douche bag" Marlene grumbled.
Audrey made her way towards the two girls swiftly.
"Well guess who looks sexy as fuck," Lily said while Marlene wolf-whistled, attracting a fair amount of attention towards the trio. A boy, probably 17 years of age, looked Marlene up and down and smirked at her, quite obviously checking her out. Marlene rolled her eyes and stuck up her middle finger in reply, and he looked away in embarrassment as his friends laughed at him.
The four boys who would later be known as the Marauders, made their way over to the girls. James gulped slightly and ruffled his hair looking at Lily.
"You look go- good, Evans," James said quite flustered at the sight of the girl. The thing about James was that he could smoothly flirt with the most gorgeous girl at any given point, but it was different with Lily.
It would always be different with Lily.

"I saw that git eyeing you all night. The blond one," Remus said, taking a long sip of the red punch, one hand in his pocket, eyeing a pervert who was smirking, looking at Audrey. The Lupin flipped him off with a sarcastic smile, and he immediately looked away.
Audrey chuckled. "Thank you for that, and now, dance," she said with a smile, putting down her glass, and leading the boy towards the dance floor as a more upbeat song started playing after about an hour of the classical waltzes. He laughed and started spinning the girl around on the floor. The pair were soon joined by the other five children, and all of them started swinging to the music, no words being exchanged. Peter started spinning Marlene around, and the two of them started waltzing around animatedly. Sirius bowed down in front of James, extending his hand out as an invitation for a dance, and James took it, and was immediately spun around by the Black. They started waltzing and jumping around, earning a good few laughs from the crowd around them. Lily was immediately spun away by a tall brunette boy, and they started dancing slightly, chatting all the while.
"May I have this dance?" Audrey asked, bowing down in a similar manner as Sirius had done just moments ago, looking at Remus.
"I thought you'd never ask," he said with a grin, and taking the girl's hand, he started spinning her around along the beat of the music. Just pure enjoyment for the seven children.
This was one of those moments.
As Audrey Potter would recall years down the road,
'We didn't know we were making memories. We were just having fun,".****
