~Flashback~

"Steady, Amelia...Hold. Listen...breathe...and," Amy's father says as Amy aims her bow and arrow. She frowns, holds it steady, and waits for her father's call.

"Fire!" She shoots her arrow at an apple in a tree. She smiles brightly and hugs her father, "I did it!" He smiles and pats her head, "Good job, Amelia. Now, do you remember what I told you?" She nods, "Keep your distance. Keep your focus. And always find their weakness." "Remember, everyone has a weakness." "Even knights?" "Even knights."

He takes her bow and nods, "Now, your defenses are slightly lowered in comparison to a sword. However, used properly, it can be more deadly than a sword. Use brain, not brawn." Amy nods, "Yes, sir." "But, you should still learn how to use a sword. I'll show you that next time I return." Amy pouts, "Which is a funny way of saying 'never'." He frowns, "Amelia." "I'm sorry, father. But you spend so much time at that castle...we almost never get to do things like this."

He notices her anger as she kicks at the tree, "I get your frustration, Amelia. But as a fighter, we do not let our anger consume us. We use it, control it." Amy pouts, "Yeah, well, what if I don't want to be a fighter?! What if I...I mean...why can't I just be your daughter?" He frowns, "Amelia, you are always going to be my daughter, my little girl. But, you do not understand what is out there. The world out there won't see you as a little girl. I need you to be ready for anything."

Amy grunts, "Ugh, but what good are these lessons if I barely learn them with you?" She turns to look at him with her eyes watering.

He chuckles aloud and kneels to meet her small level, "How about this...I let you stay up tonight, so that you and I may have a night lesson." Her eyes light up, "Really?" He laughs at her response. "But, what would mother say?" He smirks and whispers, "How about we make it our first secret." Amy giggles and whispers as well, "It's a deal!" "Alright. Now, let's head home." He lifts Amy on his shoulders, making her laugh.

They start heading to the horse until they hear a rustling. Amy's father frowns, puts Amy on the ground, and pulls her behind him, "Amelia, get your bow ready!" Amy takes her bow back from her father, then shakingly aims it at the bushes. "What did I say, Amelia? Keep your focus!" He pulls out his sword, and they move closer to the bushes. He pulls the bushes back and, a small red creature jumps out.

~The next morning~

Amy jumps out of her sleep, breathing rapidly. Shade walks up to her in concern, "Amy, are you okay?" Amy grabs her head and nods, "Yeah, yeah, I'm okay..."

Rouge folds her arms, "Yeah, well we're not. It is not an easy fight being the only maiden knights in the whole kingdom." Amy chuckles getting out of the bed, "I thought you could handle the mobian knights." "A fight I can handle. What I can not handle is being ogled like I'm a tall jug of ale."

Blaze frowned, "Not to mention, Rouge, almost blew our chances to sleep in a room in the castle." Rouge whipped around to look at her, "I almost blew it? Because I distinctly remember a certain cat setting fire to their holding chambers, almost trapping them in."
