{Sonic} A Medieval Story

Controlling Your Anger

~Mobian castle~ (Dining room)

The royal family are currently enjoying a meal in a rather intense atmosphere. Manic, Sonia and their mother were the only members at the table. The Queen seemed quite annoyed.

Sonia shuffled her food around, "It's been weeks now, mother. Will father ever join us for any meal?" The Queen kept her attention on her meal, "Your father wishes to remain difficult so, that only means we shall be in a difficult situation."

Manic scoffs, "This is horse shit..." Aleena glares at him, "Manic!" "Forgive me, mother, but it's true. This Merek attack has turned this family upside down. You and father are fighting, Sonic's attitude is shifty, I can't even remember the last time I saw either one of them for a moment's time." "Your brother is gearing to be king." "Does the job mean abandon your family?"

Sonia shakes her head, "Manic's right, mother. I just wish things were the way they were. We used to be a family people envied...now-" "I wish the same." They look at her and sees tears fall from her eyes.

"I pray to all the Gods every night for one more day...A husband who cherishes the ground I walk. Someone I can lay next to and feel warm even in the deathly cold. My children...who admittedly cause a great deal of trouble, still managing to find peace and comfort amongst each other...I always wish the same." They put their heads down, not being able to find the words to respond.

The queen smiles at them, "May we continue to pray on that better days will come." 

"I too shall pray with you for your sake, mother. I shall pray to all the Gods, old and new that they return what you hold dear." The family turns their heads to see Sonic enter the room. He walks up to Aleena, takes her hand, and kisses it. She tearfully smiles at him and strokes his quills, "Always my sweet boy." She kissed his forehead and he smiled.

Sonic walked over to his siblings and wrapped his arms around them, "And here I thought my brother and sister hated me all the years before." Manic tried to fight his smile, "Mistake not, dear brother. We just choose to hate you in person." 

Sonia folds her arm, "I hate you either way." He pouts at her, "Aw if it pleases you, I hate you too." He kisses her cheek then sits down, chowing down.

He sips his wine and sighs, "Has anyone seen father recently?" They stayed silent. "By the Gods, mother. You share a bed with this man." She gives him sad smile, "May as well be separate kingdoms."

The sound of the door opens and they turn to see Fenriz enter. Aleena frowns, "Fenriz, what calls for the interruption." Fenriz bows, "Your grace, King Jules wishes to join you and the children you share this evening for the feast."

Aleena grits her teeth, then looks to her children, sighing, "Send him in." Sonic and his siblings look at Aleena in shock, then goes back to eating.

Fenriz steps aside and King Jules entered. It was silent as he slowly approached the table. He seemed off, pale, and frustrated.
