~With Amy~ (The hidden forest)

Amy was currently sulking next to the lake of memories. She used a stick and poked at the water, feeling defeated. She frowned when she heard a condescending laugh, "Come now, Amelia. You can't win them all." Scourge says as he lies in Rosy's lap. Amy rolls her eyes, "I needed to win this one, or the prince will die next. And stop calling me Amelia!" Scourge smirks, "Look on the bright side...at least you got your health."

Amy sighs, then uses her powers to throw water on Scourge's face, making him panic. He groans, "Oh ha ha, very funny." She picks up a rock and tosses it at the lake, "I lost my sisters, the King is dead because of me, I'm the biggest wanted criminal in the nation...and I don't even know the extent of my powers."

Rosy massages Scourge's head and smiles, "Don't forget the prince might die as well." "Thank you, Rosy." "You're welcome."

Amy places her head on her hand, then plays around with her powers, "I want to fix everything so bad. I only wanted to know the truth and find the truth for others. Instead, I have powers and don't know what to do with it. And letters from the king that don't make sense. What do I do now?" Scourge chuckles, "You keep trying." She continued looking forward, not responding to his words. He stands up and then goes to sit next to Amy.

He smiles at her and places a hand on her shoulder, "Just because things aren't going the way you thought, it doesn't mean you should give up. You were always the type to have backup plans for any and everything you do. Why are you treating this any differently?" She lowers her head, "Because I'm afraid." Scourge frowns as she continues. "I've lost...everything. The people closest to me are gone. Every single one of them is gone; because of me. Because I was too arrogant and selfish. I thought being the leader meant I had to do everything myself. I thought it meant I had put my life on the line for someone else. It just made sense to me."

Scourge folds his arms, "That's because you always thought like a knight." She turns to look at him, and he smiles, "You need to trust yourself, Amy. You know you want to do the right thing. You only have to trust yourself enough to do it." She shakes her head, "That's solid advice, Scourge, even from you. But what if I can't?" "Then we all die, and the truth dies with us." "How comforting."

She turns away to sulk again. Scourge looks out at the lake of memories and sighs, "Did you know I never planned on being a blacksmith?" "What are you talking about?" "I never wanted to be a blacksmith. Making stuff for other people? Not my style. But I never really had a purpose before that. It was always stealing, threatening people, and more stealing." "Weren't you only a child when you decided to be a smith?" "I never said I was the best example for youth."

She sighs, "So what changed?"

He hesitates a little, "I, uh...I got caught stealing by one of the Mobian knights. The head knight, to be exact." Amy slowly turned to look at him. His face filled with guilt, "He caught me stealing some merchant's precious tomatoes, but rather than taking me in, he sat and talked to me. He told me how much I reminded him of his three-year-old daughter. Which offended me at first: because I wasn't some whiny brat. Then he explained what he meant. He said that I was merely a troublemaker with no direction...no purpose. Sometimes...we're put in situations we don't ask for. Then, without any other options, we're forced to make the most of those situations. He's the one who told me that there's more to life than being just a thief. I have to believe there's good in me somewhere. Even if I don't see it myself."
