The King's Job

~With the Renegades~

Rouge slams down a bag full of gold coins on the table, "And that my fair maidens, is how you rob a town blind." The girls except for Amy cheer. 

Amy rolls her eyes and treats her wound, "Except we didn't rob them blind. We barely took an eye..."  Rouge folds her arms, "Oh yeah, and what did YOU do, leader?" "I did rescue Shade." "So, not much."

She ties the bandage and smirks, "...I also fought the prince." The girls all stared at her in shock and Shade gasped, "So that's who you fought...You actually went head to head with the speed demon?" 

Cream smiles, "Legends says he's so fast that he becomes invisible to the naked eye when fighting his opponent." 

Blaze chimes in, "He's so fast, he can swoop a flock of knights together with his tornado spin." 

Rouge smirks, "I even heard, he's so fast, no one was ever able to land a hit on him."  

"And he's so dreamy..." The girls except Amy say in unison.  Amy rolls her eyes at the comment and goes back to tending her wounds.

Rouge softly sighs, "Anyone who goes head to head with him will never live to tell the tale."

Amy chuckles, "At least not until today." The girls scoff, and Rouge folds her arms, "Nonsense." Amy stares at them for a moment, then tosses the blade that was stained with Sonic's blood. They look it over in shock, "No way!" They shout in unison. 

Blaze looks up at Amy, "B-But how? It is impossible!" Amy shrugs, "I guess he's not as fast as he claims." Rouge gives a smug expression, "Or maybe our Amelia doth protests too much." "Bite me, bat. You can believe what you want. Right now, we have more pressing matters to attend to." 

She frowns and walks over to a table near a wall and grabs a tray, topped with mugs. She places the tray on the table and looks at the girls, "Ladies...it's time...to welcome back our fellow renegade!" They cheer and each grabs a mug, clanging them together. 

Shade smiles, "It's been so long since I've had a nice mug of ale. Ahhh." Amy slightly raises her mug to Shade, "Here's to Shade." "To Shade!" They shout in unison.

Blaze leans back in her seat, "You know, with Shade finally back with us, I think it's about time we settle down and take a break. You know, before jumping into the next job." They all start slouching in their seats in exhaustion, "Agreed." They say in unison.

Just as they were about to close their eyes the hawk from earlier flies into the open windows and screeches very loudly. They look at it and groan loudly
