~Quercus Kingdom~
"I trust you've been impressed with the knights of the Quercus kingdom?" Sally smiles as she walks along with Sonic through the castle. "Indeed I have, princess. I have great confidence that when the time comes where we have to face Merek, they will be ready."
Sally nods, "I'm happy to hear. The quicker the battle ends, the quicker you and I will be wedded, thus bringing our kingdoms that much closer." Sonic chuckles, "Right, I'm quite fond of your family too. Your mother defines of all grace and your father, well, he...Anyway, I must ask, why is it that I've never met your brother?"
Sally graciously smiles, "As I've expressed before, my brother is not like my family. In simpler terms, he is a fool." "But, why isn't he here? Was he not made aware of my presence?" "Perhaps he is playing with fire or in the clouds...with a bed full of women. A mystery...my brother is. Undeniably not fit to be king, that's for sure."
Sonic sighs, "My apologies, Princess Sally. I've known the Acorns and its kingdom were nothing but noble people. I hear you've banned brothels years ago and have replaced them with libraries." She snorts, "I saw to it myself. There are better ways a lady can obtain money rather than lose value within themselves, wouldn't you agree?" He stammers. "I plan to do the same in your kingdom once I am queen."
They stop walking, and Sally turns to stroke his cheek, "Speaking of, how are your knights coming along, my prince?" Sonic smirked, "Quite well, I must say. If all goes accordingly, it'll be better."
She looked at him in confusion, "What do you mean?" "I've asked to train under Princess Amelia so that she and I can pass that knowledge on to my knights." Sally wildly laughs, making Sonic quite worried.
Eventually, she settles, then looks at Sonic, "Oh my, I do believe that is the first I have ever laughed as such." Sonic continued to stare at her in confusion, causing her to frown, "You jest, surely?" "I'm afraid I do not. Princess Amelia's skills are not of anything I'm used to. She's wise, skillful, and-" "She is just a princess! If you can even call her that." Sonic frowns at her, "Which only brings her more value, wouldn't you agree?"
He walks off and Sally secretly snarls at him. She catches up to him and smirks, "You've spoken quite highly of this princess as of late. I do hope you're not practicing your courting on her for my sake." "What are you saying, Princess Sally?" "She is a beautiful princess. I pray you to know what you're doing 'training' under her and hope it does not jeopardize what we have going on." Sonic remains silent.
Sally's frown returns, "This training...is that all you wish from her?" "Of course." "Do you swear it?"
Sonic hesitates, then takes her hand and kisses it, "I would not be doing this if I did. I would be a fool to betray my beautiful and noble lady." Her eyes sparkle, "Your lady? You surely have a silver tongue. Let us hope they are not lies." She snatches her hand away.
He watches her walk away and he blissfully sighs, "Of course..."
