~The next morning~ (With Sonic)
'She thinks about me...Though, I don't entirely know why I'm excited. I don't even know what it means, and I haven't spoken to her since then so, why am I smiling?'
"My prince, why are you smiling?" Sonic snaps out of thought and comes face-to-face with Sally. Sonic sighs, "My deepest apologies, princess. I was, um, thinking about something the blacksmith said. It is an irrelevant thought, please, carry on." Sally frowns, "This is no time for jests, your majesty. This is a matter of utmost importance, with people's lives at stake. Now, we can not treat this as a game. Your men, the leaders of the aligning kingdoms, and your future wife require your undivided attention. Be with us at this moment."
Sonic gulps, "You are right, my mistake. Please, proceed with your thoughts, Sir Shadow." Knuckles scoffs, "Actually, it was my turn to have the floor." Sonic clears his throat, "You're right, please proceed, Sir Knuckles." "As I was concluding, winter is close at hand, and I believe it is our best chance of besting his dragon army. Now, our knights are well equipped and trained to fight through storms, especially winter storms." Sally smiles, "As are mine." The king of the Reynard kingdom speaks up, "The same goes for my knights." The king of the Herpestes kingdom nervously clears his throat, "Um, well..." Princess Mina frowns at him, secretly jabbing him, "Father, you're embarrassing me. What the king means to say is, while we do not possess the training at this moment, we urge great assurance that we will work diligently to be in your standards of war. If I may, I wish to note that there isn't anything I wouldn't do for his royal highness and I will personally see to it that my knights be ready when you call. Of course, I wouldn't mind a little assistance from our future king." She winked at him, making him blush, "Um, sure." Sally glared at him, making him jump.
He quickly cleared his throat, then turned to Amy, "And what of you, Princess Amelia? I'm well aware of the training between our knights, I don't doubt their readiness. I wish to know how you feel about the battle strategy?" Sally scoffs, "I admire your generosity, Prince Sonic, I truly do. However, I suggest you not adhere to advice from a mere princess." Amy raises her eyebrow, "He's listening to you, isn't he?"
Everyone in the room jolts, then Blaze grabs her attention, urging her to dial it back. Amy rolled her eyes, then turned back to Sally, who glared at her viciously, "I beg your pardon?" "If he mustn't heed my advice because I'm merely a princess, then why is he listening to you?" Sally chuckles, "Oh, how foolish. I, little girl, happen to be the future for the Quercus kingdom. I am the one who will be leading my kingdom to prosperity. And while that happens, I'm sure you'll be licking wounds or playing in dirt back wherever it is you're from. If you even remember where that is."
Rouge growls at her but, Amy simmers her down. She leaned forward in her seat, smirking at Sonic, "Prince Sonic, do you remember the time you ambushed me from a tree, while I was reading a book?" Sally snaps a look at Sonic, and he tries to look away, "Um, yes, I remember." "Well, that book I was reading just so happens to be facts on the dragon species. Various facts on all known dragons of every type. I read it three times." Sally sighs, "What is your point?" Amy smiles at Sally, "My point, Princess Sally, there was a glaring fact about dragons that cannot be overlooked. While winter does slow the dragons down, it makes it all the more difficult to sneak past them." Sonic grew confused, "How so?" "...Dragons can sense the heat from our bodies."
