~Scourge's hut~ (Next week)

Blaze and Shade sat in front of Amy with their heads hung low. Amy walks back and forth in disappointment, "I just don't understand why you would leave Rouge in the Broncos kingdom?! Do you not remember what happened last time? They could have killed her!"

Blaze shakes her head, "We did not want to but, Sir Shadow demanded we return. He assured us he'd bring her back to us unharmed." Amy scoffs, "And you believed him?!" Shade frowns, "Well, he did bring her back, unharmed, as promised."

Rouge, who was sitting behind them next to Cream, puts her finger up, "That is true." Amy frowns at Rouge, "And why are you so calm about this? Have you forgotten your spent time in that dreadful place?!" "I was upset at first but," Rouge blushes as she begins to think about Shadow, then turns to hide it, "Then I was released, and I was able to burn their stables. Those meatheads love nothing more than their horses. I've always wanted to do that." Amy pouts and Rouge pulls her in a hug, squishing her head against her bosom, "Oh, my Amelia is so worried about me, it's positively adorable." Amy shoves her away, "I told you don't call me Amelia." The girls share a laugh.

They were interrupted by the sound of a metal dagger being sharpened, "Cluck, cluck, cluck, said the hens in my hut. Keeping the eggs warm, I hope?" Scourge says, chuckling. A thought crosses his mind and he frowns, "Speaking of irritating birds, Blaze...I suggest you keep that unruly flaming rat away from my Mystique before I command him to make that phoenix his dinner." Blaze scoffs, "Oh please, as if a hawk could compete against a phoenix. You're dreaming, merchant." Scourge growls and tosses his blade in front of her, making her jump, "I wasn't asking. Keep that flaming rat away from my shop. If I so much as see a spark flash in my hut, I'm holding you responsible."

Scourge smirks at Amy, "So the time for retrieving my crown is vastly approaching, are you ladies prepared?" The girls, except for Shade, look to the side. Scourge frowns, "Amy? Am I missing something?" Cream looks at Amy with concern, then speaks up, "I-I'm ready. I've gotten close...to the blacksmith. As I hear, he is the prince's closest friend. I-I should b-b-be able to get information about the attack against Merek...if that's helpful..."

Rouge and Blaze look at her in shock and then Blaze speaks up, "I am ready as well. I've managed to get in good with their sorcerer...If I am diligent enough, I believe I can gain information that will prove useful to us once we're ready to...steal the crown from them." Rouge nods, "I'm ready too. I've gained the trust of the head knight. Not to mention, we're working on finding this supposed traitor/assassin. I'm certain to have information about their plans rather soon."

Scourge happily nods, then turns to Amy and frowns, "And you, princess?" Amy looks at him, then shakes her head, "No, Scourge, I'm not." Scourge keeps a stern expression on his face and sharpens his blade, "I beg your pardon?" "I can't leave this castle until I know what happened to my father."

Scourge scoffed, "You witnessed what happened to your father with your own two eyes. Mystery solved." Amy frowns, her eyes glistening slightly, "Ever since we came here, I've been learning new things about my father's death and even his life that I never knew before. My father died, and I lived my whole life since then, believing everyone saw him as a traitor. And part of me felt the same, I mean, I was only five, I hardly knew the man. But, I always believed in him. I've always wanted someone who knew him to believe in him, just as much as I did." Amy smiles a little, "Now, I know..."
