A bitter earthy smell. The undertones of fresh, varying coffees assaulting his nose and clinging to him caused his face to morph into one of slight disgust and intriguement. He'd never been to a place like this. Mostly, he'd just visit whatever small, local coffee shop was open.
"Why do you always look repulsed yet interested at the same time?" Kirishima asked, wrapping an arm around the mans torso and pulling him into a teasing side hug. He grabbed his face and smiled. "Your face is always so unamused but your eyes hold so much curiosity."
"It's cause you're so weird. I said I wanted a coffee and you decided to bring me to a fancy coffee shop where we'll have to wait for a while. I'm disgusted by the gesture but also appreciative in a way."
"Where else were we supposed to get coffee? Where do you normally get coffee?"
"I usually go to local coffee shops, or if I'm in a rush, I'll stop at a gas station."
"Y-you drink gas station coffee?"
"Yeah, is that a problem? Does me drinking cheap coffee turn you off?"
The elder chuckled, slightly amused. "No, that doesn't turn me off, nor does it turn me on. I'm just wondering why you'd buy cheap coffee if you make- or used to make a decent amount of money at your job."
"Well, on average I'd make around three thousand a week before I ran into you. A percentage of that would go to my boss, and the rest would be pocketed and saved for my rent."
"I don't understand."
Yokozawa tchhed lightly. "Explaining things to such a slow person is rather tedious." He voiced aloud, releasing a tired sigh.
"Well try to explain. I want to know more about you."
"I'll talk about that stuff later with you if it interests you so much. Buy my coffee first though."
Kirishima assented, going up to the barista and ordering while Yokozawa walked away from him and observed the scenery, taking in all of the pictures framed on the walls. He walked around, his gray eyes taking in everything. This place had such a modern feel, all while remaining warm and comforting.
"You look cute."
"Where's my coffee?"
"Here." The elder handed him an ice coffee, watching the way the other's face morphed into one of confusion as he lifted the transparent cup into the light and examined the beverage.
"It's a cold coffee." He said a bit disappointedly, pausing when he noticed something else in the cup. "What are these things at the bottom? They look gross."
Kirishima placed a hand over Yokozawa's mouth and led him out of the coffee shop and back to the car. "I know you don't filter the things you say, but could you at least try to be nicer about it?"
"But it does look gross. Why should I have to be nice about that?"
A sigh escaped the elder. "Just try it. I'm sure it's good."
"You try it first." Yokozawa stabbed the straw through the plastic lid and held it in front of the others mouth.
"You really are a child, you know that?" He took a small sip and hummed. "It's good. Now shut up and drink it."
Seeming appeased, the gray eyed man began drinking it contently. "It's sweet."
"You like sweet things. So hush up and enjoy it."
