be with me.

letting out a sigh, you watched as the fire slowly enveloped the photo you once treasured. it was from your previous life, clad in a wedding gown and wrapped in the arms of your husband— ex husband now, that is. you loved him with all your heart, but he was nothing but awful.

he cheated and slowly lost interest in your marriage. you had done nothing wrong to be in hell, until you had enough of him and stabbed a knife through his chest. you met as demons and he never stopped trying to earn revenge.

you jumped when you felt a coat drape over your shoulder, looking up beside you, there stood alastor. the demon you would always be thankful for. you worked at the hotel even before he came, and when he did, your ex husband would come from time to time to harass you but he protected you. at first, solely for being one of the workers of the hotel. but as time passed, the reason began to bloom into something else. something only alastor knew.

“it's cold outside, dear.” he spoke, eyes on the crackling fire.

you stared up at him for a while, before your eyes averted back to the flame, whispering, “i'm finally free.”

“indeed you are.” he hummed, hands folded behind his back.

“thank you, alastor. though, it tied my loyalty to you forever. it's better than him, i guess.” you shrugged, holding his coat closer around you.

it wasn't exactly what you'd call a divorce, but he was gone. dead. erased. erased out of hell and out of your life. alastor's eyes silently trailed back to your face.

he watched how the light illuminated your features. your long lashes that brushed against your rosy cheeks when you closed your eyes, your parted, plump lips, and to your sparkling eyes. that bastard didn't deserve you.

“be with me.” he spoke, voice barely above a whisper.

the scene of the radio demon kneeling down on one knee, looking up at you as he held your hand close to his lips was a sight only the dark pentagram and the bloody sky witnessed.

“be with me,” he whispered against your knuckles, “and no one will ever lay a hand to harm you for eternity, my dear.”

slowly pulling your hand from his grasp, you bent down a little and cupped his cheeks, tilting his head up to meet your eyes.

smiling, you whispered back, “i will.”
