behave.

the moment the package had landed on your doorstep, you wanted nothing but arrange the newly arrived books in your husband's office. it was the least you could do while he was out for work. and you preferred your arrangement anyway. his was good, but yours were better, you would argue.

you hummed with a smile, swaying ever so gently from side to side as you placed the book from your arm to one of the shelves. placing the books he had already read out and on to his desk for you to read later on. so into your task, you failed to realize how his shift had already ended an hour ago and music was now playing on the radio instead of his voice.

“oh!” you exclaimed, too preoccupied on what you were doing that you never noticed the presence behind you until you were scooped up in someone's arms.

eyes wide in surprise, you quickly clung to your husband in fear of falling, not that he would let that happen. a chuckled rumbled out of his chest, exchanging no words before he twirled with you in his arms.

“alastor!” you chuckled, hold only tightening.

he then stopped with a grin on his face, placing you gently onto his desk and was quick to maneuver his way between your legs. his hands rested on your waist, yours on his shoulders as he looked up at you.

“whatever is my darling wife doing?” alastor asked, leaning up when you leaned down.

“arranging my darling husband's books, you see.” you replied with a giggle, placing a gentle kiss on his nose.

the radio host let out a soft sigh, beyond happy to come home to a beautiful, loving wife after a long day of work. he placed his face on the crook of your neck and his arms fully wrapping around your figure, basking in your scent and your warmth.

you smiled joyfully, happy to welcome him anytime and anywhere. silence flooded the room. it was just the two of you relishing in each other's presence. until it was broken when you ascended into a fit of giggles.

“al, stop.” you spoke in between giggles but not making effort on stopping his hand from slowly inching up your leg and on your thigh.

“how come, darling? it's just the two of us.” he replied, smirking up at you just as his hand settled on the inside of your thigh.

you leaned close, eyes intently looking into his and you whispered with a smile, “are you sure about that?”

he was quick to raise an eyebrow, parting his lips to question, “wha—”

but was cut off when the door opened and you gently pushed him away just enough so you could hop off the desk. he blinked and turned around, confusion on his face. that confusion immediately died down and was turned into disappointment when he saw a red headed girl excitedly enter the room.

“auntie! auntie!” the girl called, a paper in her hand.

of course, it was your favorite seven years old niece that would come over in very rare days when her mom was too busy and had no time to hire a nanny.

“oh! hi, uncle alastor!” she greeted the brunet who gave her small smile, not forced at all, and a wave.

“what is it, bella dear?” you asked with a smile.

“i can't find the crayons!” she whined.

watching in silence, alastor could only wish in his mind for this day to be over so he could have his wife's attention solely to himself.

“how great, right when i was on the mood.” he grumbled.

you pursed your lips, trying your best not to laugh in front of your niece who thankfully missed what he had said. you cleared your throat.

“you hurry off first to the living room, honey, i'll be there in a second. we'll search for the crayons together.” she nodded eagerly with a huge smile before skipping her way out the door.

you turned towards your husband who had a bitter expression on his face, he was defeated. by a child. chuckling, you approached him for a kiss on his cheek.

“seems like i have to babysit. now, uncle alastor, behave.” you tapped his nose with a teasing smile.

as you made your way to the door, he crossed his arms and spoke with a smile, “you would be an amazing mother, dearest.”

flustered, you quickly turned around and pointed your index finger at him, “behave.” before you disappeared out his office.
