"Baby?"
The blankets shuffled and a muffled voice came out from under them, "Sleeping."
Finn sighed. Millie wasn't usually one to sleep in late. He shuffled on his feet and bit his lip, knowing exactly what was going on. He walked out of the room and into the kitchen. He moved quick as he started breakfast for them. Days like these were important for him to get right and he knew it.
His caring side took over and as he made her favorite breakfast; she would eat oatmeal with berries at any time really. He opened the refrigerator and relief washed over him as he saw a small pack of raspberries on the shelf.
Fifteen minutes later and he was walking back into the room, a bowl of oatmeal and a glass of orange juice in his arms being held carefully. Millie was still in the same position, just the tips of her mouth and nose sticking out from under the blankets. She liked to sleep under them while Finn hated it. He felt like he was suffocating under them so he kept the blankets above his collarbones but under his neck. This led to Millie sleeping over him almost every night, her entire body absorbed by the blankets and pressed into his chest comfortably while they slept.
He placed the bowl and cup down next to the bed on the nightstand before pulling the blanket back and pushing some of her hair out of her face. She whined a little and her eyes squeezed tighter before opening up and locking with his.
"Good morning sunshine."
Millie only gave a weak smile and let out a breath before slumping even more into the pillows.
"I made you your favorite," Finn reached for the bowl and tilted it towards her.
"I'm not hungry," Millie deadpanned.
Finn shook his head, "We both know that's not true. Breakfast is your favorite meal of the day."
Millie stared at him blankly and he gave an encouraging smile before lifting her up, a grunt coming from him as he did. She scooted herself a bit so that she sat up straight like he wanted her to.
"We only had raspberries and I know you usually like blueberries too but I guess we ran out," Finn said apologetically. Millie nodded and he held the bowl out to her.
She grabbed it and sat it in her lap, her fingers grasping the spoon and mixing the mush around.
"I'm not very hungry."
Finn sighed, "You don't have to eat it all, just some."
He took the spoon from her hand gently and scooped some of the oatmeal onto it, a raspberry sitting on top and making the spoon look tempting. He brought it towards her mouth with his right hand holding the spoon and his left hovering under it in case anything dripped off. Millie watched with calm eyes and opened her mouth to accept the warm food.
"See," he spoke as she swallowed, "good, right?"
Millie nodded and looked down, her eyes focusing on her fingers that suddenly became very interesting. The time was spent like this until about half the bowl was gone, Finn spoon feeding Millie as if she were a child just starting to eat solid foods for the first time. She could've done it by herself and she knew it, they both did really, but she knew that Finn liked to feel needed, especially on her bad days.
"Juice?" He asked her as he gestured to the glass of untouched orange juice that sat next to the bed.
She nodded and he swapped the bowl for the drink, Millie accepting it and immediately chugging down most of it. Finn set the glass down for her and opened his arms up for Millie. She hesitated at first; he was probably going to try and have a talk with her now, the kind of talk that has her spilling everything.
