Chapter 18 - Changes

"So now he basically has this huge ass scar on his face, it's fucking hilarious."

You rearranged your limbs on the bed, since you, Touya, Twice and Toga had indeed robbed that mattress store, for a lack of better things to do. Apparently, Shigaraki had ordered them to keep a low profile and stay off the radar, but man, you missed breaking the rules.

And Touya. You really missed Touya.

You two were alone, given that the others had vanished, probably to go "temporarily borrow" some ice cream.

"Yeah, your old man totally deserved that. But those Nomu things look kinda... uh... unnerving?" you tried to explain. "Like... they stare into your soul."

Having said that, you pushed your jaw outwards to give you an underbite and rolled your eyes back, trying to mimic their lifeless expressions. To add onto the effect, you raised your wrists into the air and dangled your fingers.

"Scaredy-cat," he rolled his eyes, and you went back to your regular expression, pouting at his lack of a reaction. "They do whatever you ask them to do without question, it's kinda fun. Sort of like you whenever someone mentions [favorite food]."

You promptly smacked him on the shoulder. "Watch it, Frankenstein, I'm still very capable of beating the shit out of you!"

"Mhm." His eyelids were dropping down to a close, and you took this as your cue to stop talking and snuggle yourself against him, to enjoy his presence silently.

You seemed to be doing that quite often in the past 24 hours.

That thought had just crossed your mind, and it took you a while to remember that, barely a day ago, you thought Touya was dead. Now, here he is, and you've done nothing except get drunk, trash a motel and rob a mattress store. You wanted to do so much more with him, to make up for all those years you missed.

Yet, you hadn't a clue what you wanted to do specifically. Right now, being with Touya was enough, but you will have to wake up from your dream and get back to the real world eventually.

You desperately hoped he wouldn't notice the way your breath hitched and became irregular, because you didn't want to have to admit this to Touya. He knows that you're (h/n), but he probably has never entertained the thought of you choosing that life over one alongside him.

Keigo must be thinking about the same thing, wondering if you're going to chose a villainous path instead of him.

After this morning, you really couldn't think straight; you kept delaying the inevitable choice you'd have to face. Hell, you'd been delaying speaking to Keigo, who must be worried sick about you and your lack of contact with him in the past while. Which is probably just making things worse.

Therefore, in order to forget about the mess you're in, you would just lay here with Touya until something forces you to confront your dilemma.

In desperate need of some kind of reassurance, you reached out to find his hand, and gripped onto it. If he noticed how shakily you'd done so, he didn't comment on it.

You liked it better that way.

"The crazies are gonna be back soon," he broke the silence after a few more minutes, "so if you want to run out now--"

"As long as I'm with you," you responded, maybe a bit too quickly. "You lead the way, Tou."

"Don't call me that when we're outside," he warned, to which you hastily nodded and apologized. "It's not you, necessarily... I'm just not used to hearing it."
