"PFFFFFFFFT!" you spat out before falling into a fit laughter. "YOU ACTUALLY SAID THAT?!"

"Word. For. Word." your red-head friend smirked devilishly.

It's been a little over a year since you met Touya. You'd make it a point to meet him everyday after school at the same corner store. You promised to try your best to ignore his shadow and have a proper conversation with him, but, every once in a while, you'd catch something weird that he didn't want you to know about.

"I can totally imagine you telling your old man 'tAlK tO mE wHeN yOu gRoW aN aCtUaL bEaRd iNsTeAd oF uSiNg fIrE, yOu dElUsInOnAl fUcK' with a straight face" you giggled some more.

"Anything for you, my queen" he tried to bow jokingly, but you cut him off by trapping him in a hug.

"You're the best, Touya" you smiled so hard that you felt your face muscles about to get a cramp.

"Is that supposed to be news to me?" he chuckled.

"You smug bastard. I take that back" you pulled away, but took his hand in yours as you dragged him along with you.

"Woah, what are you doing?" he snatched his hand from your grasp.

"What do you mean? I thought I told y-"

"You're the birthday girl, (y/n). C'mon, I've got something better planned" Now, it was Touya's turn to grab your hand and drag you somewhere.

"Better? Bold of you to assume that, when you didn't even know where we were gonna g-"

"The [favorite place]? Hate to break it to you, but you're not all that unpredictable"

"Y-yes I am!" you shot back. "I wasn't gonna say that, I was gonna say [favorite place]"

He quirked up a brow. "Is that not what I said?"

"No, you said [favorite place]. I said [favorite place]. There's a difference. Get it right, Tou"

"You're unbelievable"

You were pretty excited to see where he was gonna take you. Over the course of the past while, you'd gotten ridiculously comfortable around the snarky male. He did try avoiding you a couple of times early on, but you both knew that he was just not used to letting people into his life. You had a rollercoaster of a relationship; sometimes, you'd have a deep conversation about your families, other times, it was just light, playful banter. Whatever it was, you had a trust in him that you'd never had with anyone else.

"Hold up. Where are we going?" you were now being dragged into the mall. It's now around noon - obviously you'd skipped school, and Touya got into an argument with his dad in order to get an excuse to leave - and the mall was relatively empty.

"I thought you liked surprises?" he tried to confirm.

"And I thought you were a lazy ass who doesn't like to plan stuff?"

"Ouch" he let go of your hand and placed it on his heart, faking a hurt expression. "I try to be nice and you gotta be mean like that?"

You punched his shoulder playfully. "Okay, Mr. drama queen. I won't ask any more questions"

"Doesn't matter, anyways; we're here" he gestured to...

... the arcade?

"I feel like there's a longer story to this" you raised a brow and crossed your arms over your chest.

"There was the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone, so I did" he smiled, an indication that he'd done something he shouldn't have.

"Now, I'm curious. What laws have you broken today?"
